Saving is something that we're taught of because it's a very good practice. With that fact known to me, I really save money and I am very happy that until now, I can still manage to save amounts and I have never been regretful in this smart move.
How about you?
Do you actually save money?

Something that I have been trying to find out for a long time is, why do I see so many people that do not save money! They either don't want to or they want to but can't! I have tried endlessly to persuade people to save money, and it just seems like a useless situation!
And I think in your discussion you started, you have hit the key that I need to show people the importance of saving money! You said"saving is something that we're taught", that's what happened! Me, and all these people that don't save, were never taught by anyone how or the importance of saving! My mission now is to reach out to these people and teach or educate them on the very good practice of saving! Maybe I can make a difference in some peoples' lives, and it will spread to others in need!

I believe the bast way to make a difference woould be to try to educate the younger generation about savings! If I would have started saving as a teenager, just $10 a week, I would have been a millionaire by now! I was an only child, so needless to say, I wasn't taught the importance of saving, but my daughters sure are learning, as I am teaching them as I learn the hard way! :-)

chargoans, this is a really good answer, I believe that is a good idea, to start on the young ones now, that they are young, and it will help them in the future!

Okay so I am guilty of not having enough savings, but I do attempt to save. My problem is whenever I accumulate enough to try to invest...an emergency arises and I lose that option! Darn cars. I wasn't taught the value of savings when I was younger, it has been an acquired skill of which I still attempt to improve. But why does it seem that I just cannot get a chance to invest? :-)

I always do. It really helps whenever I need it. But before, my brother steals it. And I always tell it to my mom, and she repays it and scold my brother a lot. Because even though I am older, I am really good at savings but when he steals my money, I cry a lot. Because I really feel bad, I saved all of those money and he just steals it. That is the time I regret saving. But I stil save, but now, I am now broke, I finished college but I cant find a job. But I still save, whenever my mom give me some money.

I save money for short periods of time to then spend on travelling and surfing! why save loads of money, you die without a wallet anyway! You cant take money to the grave, so why lock it up in a bank whilst you're living!

I don't save money. It's a truma of activist as whatever extra money we have goes into our activism work. I resolve to change this; I'm opening a special savings account so that I can save at a high interest rate. All my money will go into that account!

I save money, but just for coins. It would be very heavy if I bring them out. Also , somebody said that we always think the coins should be used and it will let us use more money than we expect. So saving coins is a good way in saving money too.=]

Yes, savings is a very nice thing to do but it is quite difficult especially when one is an impulsive buyer and has too much access to his or her cash. Personally i would love to save and I do and times, only to find out that I end up using up all I have managed to save and it pisses me off but what can I do or say? Afterall, I saved it so I can use it ... aint it?

Hi,
I hardly save money for the sake of saving money only. But I do have more loans that are always there making no saving for me. In order to close one loan I take another and those money I give to my parents I hope they are good investors and savors. In certain times I am bit spendthrift. I hope I may concentrate on saving.

Yes i save money. But sometimes no matter how much i try i can't seem to set aside even 10% of what i earn. there's always bills and expenses to pay. The reason why i'm here posting in mylot is because i need more added income. I have to work harder for the coming rainy days. It's better to be prepared financially in case of emergencies.

I try to save money and set it aside. I'm generally successful but lately i have to dip into my savings to pay for major bills that have decided to crop up and I havent been so good at saving.

Yes I try and save about a quarter of my monthly pay every month. As soon as it hits my account I make sure I transfer the money into a seperate savings account, it's essential for me to do this or I would be tempted to spend it, or may even spend it by accident. I also try to budget every month to make sure that I can maximise the amount of money I put away. Too keep it fun I give myself targets and when I hit them I treat myself to something. It helps keep it interesting.

Well even though I would like to save a lot of money to buy a ps3 which cost around $500 I just have a hard time saving money from my weekly paycheck. I tell myself every week that im going to put this in the bank but theres always something that I have to buy lol that makes me spend most of my pay check I can barley go a week with out spending all of my money and I find that pretty sad.

I am a traditional Chinese, so saving money is important to me. I have this habit even when I was only a kid. We won't spend the future money. If we earn one dollar, then at least we will save 20 cents. It's not possible for me to earn one dollar and then spend it.

Yes, I save money. I save for future projects or future investments. I make it a point to save a little every month for me to be able to have something extra to use when certain plans are at hand to start on.
