I have found a website in which you can keep track of the books that you have read for free. I like to use this site to keep track and organize the books that I have read to my children.
Here is the link that I use to do that.

I've been keeping track of my books read since grade school. I started off in a notebook. Then when I got a computer I did a spreadsheet on Excel. I also keep track of certain authors and what books I have read of theirs. Authors that I really like so I can get more of their books. If you go to the authors' websites you can print of a list of every book they ever wrote. I keep a checklist on that print-out, as well as a log on my spreadsheet. I am way over 700 so 200 books for free wouldn't help me.

Track 200 books for free?
That's a little restrictive for the way I go through books.
Besides, it'd be almost impossible to start now, unless I could get a list from my library of all the books I've checked out.
I suppose it would be a good site if I didn't read so much, but if I don't have anything else to do, I'll average a book a day. I would find it fascinating to track just how much I read, but it's too impractical to have to enter all that data for so little gain.

Come to think of it, is it possible to get a list of all the books you've ever read from the library? Most of the books I read come from there, so simply getting that list would be almost as good as keeping track. Does anybody know if this is possible?

Thanks magnet for sharing this site. I have read so many books that I can't even remember the titles of them anymore. This would come in handy for sure.

I already track the books i read. Ever since high school when had to make a reading log i've done it. It's just an old notebook which i write when i started and finished the book, the title and author and what i think of it. I've managed to keep it relatively up to date and i like it. I often look in it when i want to remember the name of a book i read a few years ago or something.

That's a pretty cool site. Thank you for sharing it with me. I keep a book journal where I keep track of the date read, author, title, number of pages and any thoughts on the book.

Well indeed I do like to read book and though I used to read a lot in the past but now I only read the ones that really interet me. My busy shedule gives me very less time to enjoy the leisure of reading and I do try to read e-book instead. Well I never did keep a mark of the books I read because mostly I remember them and if I don't in some cases then usually reading the first paragraph itself is enough to jog my memory.
Well that does sound like a handy site, I'll give it a look and thanks for sharing it with all the mylotters.

What a great idea. I will definately check out this site, thank you!
I know that there have been alot of times that I have started reading a book, and then realized that it was one I had already read. I usually end up re-reading it by that point, though!
I can start with the five I just brought home from the library today. And then maybe look at lists of other books by those authors in the front of the books. That way I can see how many of the other titles I have read. That's one good thing. I usually stick with an author or two for certain periods, and occasionally find new ones to add to my list!

Thanks for the link. I like reading books a lot but too bad I never have a lot of time to read everything I want to read. I don't keep track of the books. Maybe I do if you call buying them and putting them on my shelf as one of the methods. Not only I like to read books, I like to own them also. Therefore I would buy everything that's interested to me, put them on my shelves and read them whenever I have time. These days, I am so into travel writings. I am starting to collect everything that's related. I even start planning to write my own when I go travel later the year, that would be a very unique book sitting on my shelf.

Wow, seems a lot of people forget what books they've read!!! I know i can't remember of the top of my head all the books i've read, i would always remember if i had already read it. I probably don't go through books nearly as quickly though!
As to keeping a record, i don't do it for an ego thing, i just like to look back when i forget a title or an author and it's interesting to look at the periods when i read loads of books to when i read hardly any!!

I don't track down what I read; it would make reading feel like a statistic to me, like I have to finish the book I started. I'm quite scatter-minded and overall busy, especially with the three or more books I'm usually simultaneously reading for school, so my reading schedule is really sporatic. I find no value in tracking down the amount of books someone reads; it seems to me like a phony list of achievements to boost ego. However, I think in your case, it is useful especially in relation to your kids; that way, they won't get bored of hearing the same book over and over, since you'll have kept track of it all.

I used to read a lot of books, but now after I have started browsing the net I do not find the time. I used to keep reading a particular author's books till all his or her books were read. I remember being very fond of Edgar Wallace books and the Sherlock Holmes series.

That sound good!. I have some favorite authors and when I go to buy another book I usually end up writing down all the books I'v read so I wont buy one I've already read. Since I dont have room to keep all the books I have to get rid of them or sell them back to the half price book store. I also see books listed that I might want to read and after a while I forget the author or the book title. Maybe this couold help.

I love to read and there have been times that I have read certain books and still got to buy the same book again because I just cant remember reading it and only when I started to really read the book that I realize that I have read such book already. I have hundreds of books and I need a capability of more than 200 books. However, I still thank you for sharing this site. God bless!
