Are you a night owl?

I am. I usually go to bed at 3 in the morning. I stay in bed until before noon. It makes me feel guilty. I wished to be more productive if I can, but when can I do? Is it something that I have a control over? Or, I just can't help it and that I can't do anything about it because I it has something to do with my physiology?

You can try to start getting yourself to bed earlier. It might be hard for the first few weeks, but you can get your body clock used to sleeping earlier. Really, though, it's about doing what you can while you are awake that makes you productive. It's no big deal when you sleep and when you get up as long as you get everything you need to get done during the time you are awake. Who care if you are in bed until before noon; if you get the stuff done that you need to do and be productive, then it shouldn't matter. I think you should just concentrate on doing what you can while you are awake.

Hey, that is something. Right! As long as I do what I can when I'm up it doesnt matter anymore what time I spend the 8 hours of bedtime I have. Hay. Just that, most of the times, the opportunity to be productive is there during daytime, not at night time, where my adrenaline is at their best.

it is now your move that matters to find that job which can make you productive at the hours when you are awake. it can be a home based job or a job in a company which shall desire people who are awake at those very unholy hours. in fact, these are the jobs which give you a night premium and thus, you get a higher basic pay than those which run during the normal working daytime hours.

I'm in the same boat as you. I've tried all the suggestions posted in this forum but the insomnia refuses to budge! The only solution is sleeping pills.... meaning we're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea! If you never had this problem before I don't think it has anything to do with physiology though I could be wrong. I quietly console myself that as long as I have the 6 to 8 hours of sleep, who cares when I sleep and when I wake up....except of course it'd have a big impact if you're have a 9 to 5 job. I hope God would come to our rescue! http://stopinsomnia.blogspot.com

I decided to change into a more active lifestyle instead. I find pills a little intrusive. I don;t know if I can bear with the side effects. Will opt for a change in lifestyle first.

there's really no problem with that. there are jobs which run for 24 hours at 3 shifts a day. get the afternoon till early morning shift. i believe it ends at 2 o'clock in hte morning. you are a desirable individual therein. not so many are keen on taking a job at those normal resting hours.

Hey since you are a night owl, have you thought about working at night? It is just a suggestion. I work the night shift and I love it. I come home get some sleep and am up to spend time with the family.

Am also a night owl for a "million" years now. I believe it has nothing to do with physiology. It is a psychological habit. It can be controlled by having a strong self discipline like sleeping early and waking early and stick to this pattern for at least a week and after a week, your body begins to adjust to a normal sleeping habit. The toughest part is to keep the new schedule forever.

I definitely consider myself a night owl. I never go to bed before 1am no matter how early i gotta wake up the day after. It's not something i do on purpose, but some people have a different biological rhythm so that they go to bed earlier and like to wake up earlier. To each their own, right?
