It is very, very hard to work with family.. I worked with my dad and ran his office... He is the most disorganized guy I know. It used to drive me absolutely nuts. I would organize things, he would mess them up, I would file, he would bring them out and leave them on the desk.... I finally got so ticked off at him.. I scanned everything and put it in the computer and on back up disks (he is not computer friendly)... then I glued all the files together.. Got his attention.. and now he had to learn how to access his files.. LOL
Never again would I work with family.

Me and my mom have our own business which we will soon be doing full time.. Sometimes we have our differences but Im a flexible person so I try her ideas and she tries mine. It works out to our advantage..

I have worked with family but it was always husband and son and we got along fairly well. It can work out very well but there needs to be clear lines as to who does what etc to make life easier for everyone involved.
Many years ago a Solicitor friend told us that the best person to go into business with is a stranger or someone you absolutely cannot tolerate outside of work. He claimed that if a person was investing money it was better to go with one of the above rather than a relative because if things go wrong then you are only worse off financially not emotionally. :)

I guess it depends on what kind of work you are doing....i personally would love to work with family. Of course there might be a clashing of heads, but really you will have that with anybody at any job, so why not be your family, we'll all get over it!
