I have a camera. I got it as a gift from a friend. However rarely do I take any photographs. But I have certain friends who take a lot of photographs and spend a lot of money for that.
Are you interested in photography?
Do you take a lot of photographs?
What type of photographs do you take?
Do you publish your photos anywhere?
Do you earn out of photography?
Please respond.

For me, photography is a craze and a hobby. I take my digital and SLR film cameras everywhere because I don't want to miss a photo op.
I rely on my SLR film camera more because of the high quality of photos that I'm able to take with it. So I do spend a lot of money on film and getting the pictures developed. My main subjects are my family and friends and the various activities we enjoy with our horses (roping, barrel racing, rodeos, etc).
My photos aren't published or sold, they are mainly for personal enjoyment. I did enter a photo contest once, and that picture was published in a magazine. I also won a monetary prize for that photo, but that's the only time I've ever been paid for a picture.

Congratulations for winning that cash prize and getting your photo published. You really take up photography as a hobby. That's why you don't publish or sell your photos.
I can umderstand that though it is an expensive hobby, it is great, giving satisfaction to your mind.
thank you for your response.

you must be good at photography. it is not easy to be winning prizes in photography competitions. people who join in are all to reckon with. when i still have my camera, i used it only at taking pictures for the family, like the things that we do on vacations and at home.

I have both kinds of cameras Guess I would say it is a hobby with me
Still have a ton of pics to get developped LOL
No I do not make a living out of taking pictures Wouldn't even think about it. Mostly pics of my grankids
I prefer the regular camera simply cause I can put the photos in album and share them when I want to.
Have put together photo albums for 2 of my sons from when they were born to the day they got married. Have 1 left to do Makes the album unique and something they can truly keep
Have a great day

I am sorry, wendy. It took so much time to comment on your response. Photography is a very good hobby, and you seems to be very interested in it. It is wonderful to have pictures of your sons from their birth to marriage. Keep the work with your grandchildren also. All the best.

I think that is so neat! I'm sure your sons will really appreciate those and the fact that you worked so hard putting them together. What wonderful memories! :)

I have a digital camera which I use to take photos of family during get togethers and other occasions. It is still not a passion with me, but I hope to use it more. I guess it is never too late to learn good photography.

Yes, I am interested in photography and have been since I was about ten. It is now a hobby I share with my youngest son. I take a lot of photographs, usually of the children, their events, and when we travel or do 'touristy' type things, even if we aren't tourists.
I take digital photographs, normally. I have had photos published on several occassions and yes I have earned from them as well. That would have been years ago though, before I 'retired'. Now I justmake a little money with them at Mylot, or when they get used as stock now and then.

I am interested in photography. I do take a lot of photographs. I take pictures mainly of the nature and insects like butterflies, bees, dragonflies. etc. Of course I also take pictures of people in action, interesting structures and so on.
I do have a few photoblogs on my pictures but I don't publish them nor send them for any competitions. I also don't really earn from my pictures, except in myLot here!

I like pictures and mine is mostly for EBAY since I have a store there. My daughter likes to take them during the holidays and such. I share some of the pictures on line and now have to find out if I shared enough of my photes that I had since I lost them all albums and such in a housefire recently. Having a camera is a good thing.

I think there is distinction between photography as a craze and as a hobby.
I have friends that take pictures constantly, snapping away with their digitals cameras and cell phones. Most of these photos are terrible but get uploaded to the internet in huge quanities. Often several of the same shot. I consider this a craze because they're simply creating huge numbers of snap-shots with no planning.
Photography as a hobby means putting some thought into what you do, the equipment, composition, and display. These are the people who keep nice albums of travel pictures and give framed prints as presents to friends.
My photography is in the hobby distinction, but I've sold some of my photographs, and had a few exhibits in my college library, and photographed one wedding.

I like photography and I like to take pictures, especially of nature and animals. It is a hobby for me. I have not tried to sell any of my photos. I just enjoy taking pictures. I use a digital camera and upload the photos to my computer. I then pick out the ones that I want to print out. I don't usually print out that many.

I see your hobby is nature photography. It s a very nice hobby. Please see response no 10 here. The friend suggests some website to which you can upload your pictures and get paid for that. Why cann't you try that?
I am very sorry gberlin for the inordinate delay in commenting on your response. Thank you.

I love taking photos. I own a Canon PoweShot A540 digital camera. It goes wherever I go so I can get great shots when they are presented to me. Here's an example of a shot I took awhile back. I was outside looking at all my garden plants and fruits. I caught this bee pollinating my rasberries. I don't post pics anywhere but here though for my friends etc. Thanks for the discussion as well. Enjoy the photo. Let me know what you think of it too?
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I like taking photos, but to me it's just a hobby. My partner on the other hand, LOVES taking photos. I wouldn't say it's a craze as such for him, but I have seen him lay flat on his back on the ground to get what he calls "Just the right angle" LOL.
We take nature photos, photos of the mountains, photos of animals, photos of people, places, random items, anything that will present an interesting photograph to the viewer.
We haven't published any of them though I did enter one photo of my partners into a competition online. He made it right through to the semi final, and got pipped to the post by a photograph of a child wearing a huge hat lol.
We don't earn out of photography, but my partner HAS actually been considering starting up a Wedding Photography business in his spare time. I don't know whether he intends to take it any further or not though.

Then photography to me was crazy, but now I like snapping photographs, cos it will make me remember the hard life I once lived. It also makes me tell myself sometimes that am going somewhere. Thanks and have a nice day.
