What IS it with men and remote controls????

On a typical evening at my house I sit at the computer, reading an e-book, or IMing with friends, doing a bit of MyLoting. I am fairly good at shutting out background noises but-----------the one thing I can't seem to shut out is the T.V. when the channel changes. I am not bothered by the regular program interruptions for commercials. It is that channel changes grab my attention. I have heard other women say the same thing, its that switching and switching that drives them nuts. Has any man ever watched a whole program, from start to finish, since the invention of the remote???

People who keep changing TV channels when it is not due to commercial breaks are really not serious in watching a particular show. They just want to be entertained while they are seated in front of the TV, and any channel that captures their attention will do. Yes, that can be irritating especially if they are not the only ones watching the TV. The best thing to do is to hide the remote.

Hiding the remote around here doesn't work real well. We have three of them, and he is bound to find one of them. Also he mutters to himself a lot while searching for them.

That is when I tell my husband to check out the guide. Our cable allows us to view what is on by pushing the guide button and it will give us the show line up. Then I dont have to deal with channel surfing.

LOL, we have the guide option also, but I am happiest when hubby forgets about that particular thing. He has the habit of reading them out loud, and [deliberately, I think] mispronouncing about one third of the words, most of the names, and asking what some of the words mean.

Ha, Ha , I sure don't think my husband has . I think that is why I stopped watching TV . I can not stand trying to watch a TV since we got one with a remote. My hubby just is constantly channel surfing .

My dad always turns over during the commercial breaks which is a pain as you end up missing the start of the program when it comes back on.
Most of the time in my parents house it is my mum who has the remote and in my house the kdis watch tv far more than me.

That is part of it for sure----------some part of my mind must be following the program and that missing chunks of it is very annoying.
