What is the worst thing you stepped on?

The worst thing I ever stepped on was dog poo. I was barefoot, but little did I know I was lucky. It was easier to clean off my foot, than my shoe that I had on when I stepped in dog poo much later. I had to throw the shoe away. Even using a Q-tip, I couldn't get it all out of the crevices. Movig on...
I know what my dad's answer would be. A snake. Growing up he and his family lived in the country. He was in a big family with little money, so shoes were to be worn to school and to church, the rest of the time they were to be in their closet. It was just a practical way of making them last longer. However, one day, in doing the chores outside of the house, he was walking along and stepped on a snake. He couldn't tell me for sure what kind, because he said no one has ever run as fast as he did in that moment. LOL
So what is the worst thing you ever stepped on?

I stepped on used toothpick--a round one--that was stuck in my carpet! It broke off in my foot and since it had bacteria on it, my food got infected. I was on crutches for several weeks until my foot healed. Don't ever use round toothpicks! And make sure any one who uses any toothpicks always puts them in the trash!

Hahahaha, thats funny. I have stepped on a piece of wood with nail driven in it. I know how it happened, because I didn't wear houseshoes at the time, and the weird thing is that the nail stuck me in two places in the bottom of my foot. I DON'T know how that happened!

Well I've stepped in dog poo and also horse and cat manure. Those don't bother me. It's nasty but can be washed off. The worst I ever stepped on was a sewing machine needle. I had to go to the ER because it was in my heel so far I couldn't get it out. Worse then that though was when they numbed up the foot, a needle into it and that hurts believe me. It took a few people to hold me down during that. I was not too happy with my mother later on because it was from her machine.

Hehhe yeah right. No my mom didn't make it up to me. She just said I shouldn't have gone into the garage in bare feet :( Nice huh?

The worst thing that I have ever stepped on was a rusty nail and it went deep into my heal. It got infected as we had no money to go to Drs back when I was a child. My mother would boil water and a darning needle every morning and every night to drain the infection in my heel. Now that I am older and know more about infections, it is amazing that I am alive. LOL

I remember when I was six years old and I was playing out by the barn and stepped on a huge rusty barn nail almost went through the top of my foot, you could see the tip of the nail pushing against that last layer of skin..My mom wanted to take me to the doctors and have it removed and she was also worried about me getting lock jaw, but my stepdad refused to let her take me and he pulled the nail out and made me soak my foot in turpentine for a few hours several times a day for a few days. It is not something I would recommand but it didn't get infected and after a week I was okay and could move around without hobbling to bad.

The year that I got married, it was the law that you had to have a physical before you could get married. That was the first time I was ever to a Dr. Imagine my surprise at that exam. LOL

Oh my word! That is pretty bad. It reminds me of my dad being a teen and having an ear infection. They couldn't afford the doctor "unless it was serious" so my dad didn't go - until his ear drum burst. I'm glad there are more ways for lower income families to get medical care now days. I can't imagine having to live with your incident or my dad's. You are both tough people! : )

Dog poo definitely rates as one of the worst things I have stepped on. Yuck! I have also accidentally stepped on a great big slimy banana slug, and it took me forever to get all the slime and gunk off my feet and from between my toes. It was so gross! LOL

Well just as worse is stepping in one of my cats contributions to the world, no not poo, but a nice big hairball wad...I sometimes do that when I get up late at night from bed to go to the loo..so I don't see it...but the worst was when I was a kid...I was with my mom on the beach and from a distance I saw one of my school mates..I started to run over to go to her and next thing you know, I feel this incredible sharp pain in my foot...I look down and the sand was covered in my blood...I had stepped on an embedded piece of glass that I hadn't seen--nearly sliced my toe off...to this day I don't care for beaches!!!

For me, it is the same as you. The worst thing I have ever stepped in is dog poo. We have two dogs & one of them is a Dalmation. You can imagine the size of the poos he does. As much as we try to clean it up, there is always some there.
One day my step daughter, then age 8, accidently stepped on the dog poo. Gee, she made a fuss, crying & everything.
Two years ago, on Christmas Day, my step son stepped on broken glass. He cut his foot betwen his toes. The screaming & hysterics had to be heard to be believed. I would say that is the worst thing he has ever stepped on.

The worst thing that I stepped in was when I was younger in my teens I was taking out the trash and you know how you sometimes take you foot and stick it in the bag to smash the trash down some well I did that but dang I didnt have any shoes on and there was a lid from a can and I cut the side of my heel opened and had to have 8 stitches in it. it is like dont do this at home. LOL

The worst thing I ever stepped on was a piece of hard plastic (like what you find on car tail lights). It wasn't the fact that I stepped on it, it was the fact that to wipe it off my foot, I used the top of my other foot to scrape it off. To my surprise, I sliced the top of my foot open. I didn't do any major damage (although one milimeter to the left I would have caught a vein) but I did need 2 stitches. :) Other icky things are: cat vomit, a bee (yes I was stung), and mud that you didn't realize was as deep as it was (when your whole foot sinks down to your ankle). LOL mahmah

The worst and most painful thing I ever stepped on was a beehive. It was in the sand at the beach, in an area that was part grass, and part sand, where the guys used to go to fish. Everyone knew there were bees there, including me, but I forgot, because I was running, playing a game of some kind. After the first bee stung me, I grabbed my bare foot, and was jumping up and down in pain, and then my other foot got stung. My brother and his friends were there, and they helped me get out of there. I had to pedal home on my bike using the unstung sides of my feet. I had quite a few stings, and when I got home, my mom had to pull out the stingers with tweezers.

The worst thing I have ever stepped on was a toothpick. It was logded into carpet in such a that when I stepped on it it went so deep into my foot. The worst part of it was my dad convincing me that if I just yanked it out I might leave splinters. He made me soak my foot first (for what seemed like an eternity) and then pulled it out slowly for me. It was so painful and all I wanted to do was just reach down and pull it out.

Erm, the worst thing I stepped on was something crawling in my flat! I'm a vegetarian and dispise cruelty to animals and creatures, so even though it was bugging me (no pun intended) I still felt bad about killing it.
Oh well!

Oh I hate stepping in dog poo. Before I moved to florida (it is not advisable here as the fire ants and "grass" is not user friendly to bare feet) i went barefoot a lot. In my lifetime I have stepped on a bumble bee, honey bees, glass, really sharp rocks, and when I was in the third grade I was outside without my shoes on (my parents told us not to go out without shoes cause we had just cleared the land we had bought around our house in the country and my dad had killed well over a thousand rattle snakes, copperheads, and moccassins) and happened to look down and there was a baby timber rattler (just as poisonous as an adult) no less than two feet away from me. My friend ran and got my dad who killed it. Of course I got yelled at for being out without my shoes.....again.

That's scary. When I was a kid, I loved to overturn rocks. Not pebbles, but big rocks. So I turned over a rock and a copperhead was staring right at me. I ran as fast as my legs could go and my dad went out and killed it. Poor dads. They always get the worst jobs. lol

As of the moment I could not think of anything that I have stepped on that was significant.
But more like what the worst thing that I have touched... When I was in nursery, yes it was a long long time ago, but for some reason I remember it clearly just like it happened last week.
It was the first day of school, my mom along with my nanny brought me to school, there was a lot of children and parents. Then when class was about to start, the parents were asked to step out the room. All the children then started crying one by one, it was like a domino effect.
The teacher turned off the lights and started to play the piano, I think with the intention to calm us down.
But then we were all over the room and bumping into each other in the dark, when someone bumped into me and made to lean back on the table, I used my hand to hold on to the table to avoid falling face down on it.
But then, I felt something watery and sticky in my palm, I touched another child's vomit! eeewwwww.... could have been crying so hard then threw up... I guess it was that horrifying and gross for first day of school that is why it was so memorable.

I think so too.
It's just amazing how much recall I have for that incident and it has been more than 20 years.

I think so too.
It has been more than 15 years and I call still vividly recall that incident. Haha..
Probably because of the gross factor.

For me, it is a lizard.
Just a few days back, I walked out of my room to get a drink from the kitchen. So I open my door and walk past my carpet, and I noticed 2 things at about the same time.
One, something was scuttling away from me in a weird but quick fashion. Two, I stepped on something.
I realized then that the lizard was somehow waiting outside my door. When I walked out, I stepped on it unknowingly. I don't know whether to laugh or feel pity for the lizard.
My footstep was light enough but I must have squashed it hard enough. Enough to cripple him a bit because when it ran away, it was in a very weird way - like crippled. I did yell and said sorry to the lizard but it wasn't really my fault.
How am I supposed to know it will be just at my door step?

LOL, the pleasure is mine. ;-)
But for the record, what I described was 100% real. It really happened to me the way I described it and it really took place just a few days ago. :P
