yeah that's bad!! well any which implies hurting the other person inecessarily IS bad. It's normally better in person and going straight to topic, in my opinion.

That's pretty good sumi. When I divorced my first husband here's how the conversation went..(ex hubby)"What do you want for our first anniversary?" (me) " A divorce. I'm moving out on Monday." May have been cold, but it was to the point.

Yup, it's worst and brief...the person may not have anything else to say. Of course, this is presuming that both parties have already talked at lenght and have given each other "space" for the moment. After a few days, one party finally decides and messages, "we are thru". However, it would come as a great surprise if one just sends it without any warning, no quarrel, no misunderstanding, no cold war. If I were the receiver, I'd freak out and ask the person why. Don't you think the other person deserves an explanation? There has to be....But have I done it? Nah...text messages were yet unknown during my time, so....
