Well this is the first time since I've moved over here that I've tackled making my chocolate chip cookies. They have turned out quite nice. A little hard on the outside but nice and soft on the inside! No mean feat really as it takes some skill to manage that:)
So do you like baking your own or do you prefer store-bought cookies?
My choice is plain - my own just taste better and I know exactly what's in them:)

Hiya pal ,
My eldest son has ceoliac and I used to bake every other day , I used to make his bread too with fresh yeast , he has been married now for over 20 years and although I taught him to bake he orderes all of his stuff now from the chemist , he gets gluten free pasta , bread and biscuits ,
I did it so much for him it kind of put me off baking , I still do it now and again with my granddaughters ,they have great fine especially with the icing pens lol ,
That keeps all the mess in my house not theirs lol xx

I love homemade cookies too and they taste better and more original. I do bake cookies if I have time or on vacation. The following is my favourite:
CHOCOLATE APRICOT COOKIES (Makes 40)
Ingredients
125g butter
140g brown sugar
1 egg
30g cocoa powder
150g flour
1½ teaspoons baking powder
45g coconut, ground
185g dried apricot, chopped into small pieces
265g dark chocolate chips
Steps
1. Beat butter with brown sugar with a mixer until smooth. Beat an egg and add into the mixture, mix well, and pour into a large bowl.
2. Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa powder into the mixture, mix well. Add ground cocoa, chopped apricot and dark chocolate chips, mix well and form a firm dough.
3. Cover baking tray with baking paper. Roll around 1 tablespoon of the dough into a ball. Place it on the baking paper (don’t pack them too tight, leave around 1.5 cm space between each dough) and press it to flatten it a little bit.
4. Preheat oven to 180oC. Bake cookies at 180oC for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from heat and let cool. Ready to serve.

i love chocolate chip cookies one of my favorites i dont really eat cookies much except for healthy and vegan ones with carob and substitute butter but i can make them with vegan ingredients and once youve got the hang of it theyre really easy to make you can make ones with currants or rasins as well which taste good

You are so good to still be baking. I bet your cookies did not last long. Fresh baked biscuits are the best. We used to make little cakes and those were always best straight from the oven so did not last long.
I do my baking out in the sunshine now.
