Yes I agree, I love aquatic pets :) They are pretty sensitive to water parameters though depending on the species so you definetly have to be careful with that. I use a water dechlorinator when doing water cahnges and fully cycle the tank before adding my fish.

I don't have a real pet. I have only a virtual QQ pet. It is a lot of fun with my virtual QQ pet. If you want to know more about it, just go to my discussion and you will get more information about my QQ pet. Thanks for inviting me as your friend.

You are welcome to be my guest to my discussion--QQ virtual pet. It is really a lot fun with a virtual pet on the screen of your computer while you are working online. It is such a good feeling that you have a pet with you as a company.

I'd think that chickens would be noisy. How do you sleep at night? With all the bad press about chickens and avian flu, are you worried about contracting that or histoplasmosis which can cause blindness eventually? Thank you for putting up with all my questions. I just want to know more.

Chicken here sleeps at night too. Those chicken that does not sleep during the night are the boilers(commercially fed chickens with light buld to keep them awake and eat at night). The chicken we have here are what we call, backyard or native chicken. I don't know what you mean about that which can cause blindness. Its not known here.
Kat its fine with me, you can ask anything you like to know. I hope I know some of them. God bless!

Kat you will find alot of houses here in our country with chicken as a pet. I guess you can't have it in your place because native chickens are not available and not allowed since they make noise each morning that can wake up all sleeping with the street. There are lots of astray cats here too, but they are will you can't catch them. Thanks for the sharing you gave. God bless!

hi, bearty_ph. i am interested in the topic you post here.
i like to have a pet in my home, but i couldn't do it.because my parents and my younger brother don't like to raise a pet.they think that if take a pet at home, they should spend much time on taking care of the pet, such as keep cleaning, keep bath and so on.finally, it is not pet live with me in home.
now, i live in dorm of university. last year, i was going to take a pet to my dorm, but my roommates opposed me immediately.now, i have not a pet in my dorm.
it is quite pity for me to live here without a pet.
i like a pet and want to live with a cat.hehe
thank you for your topic.

I feel pity for you my friend. I know in time you can have a pet if you live on your own. I guess your housemates just hate to work in your behalf whenever you are not around and the pet requires care. Thank you for replying and for the interest in sharing your views. You are highly appreciated, God bless!

They look like paraketes - I think that is the way to spell it. They are popular pets in the States, too. I've never had a bird for a pet. They seem messy, dirty to me, even if they never leave the cage. My aunt had them when I was a kid.
We have a cat. Her name is "Em" and she is very sweet.

I do have a pond in my yard, and we got about 12 fish there. One is HUGE, i call her the hake for it's size, and it can get even bigger. I've also had ducks and birds, but that was many years ago.

actually with a fish pond you don't need to feed the fish if you put the proper plants in there. That makes it extremely comfortable, because all you have to do is change a bit of the water now and then, and clean the pond for the excess of plants (when they grow too much) once every several months.

A fish pond in the yard will be exciting for me. I don't need to clean my aquatioum every now and then, I might just clean it once a month. LOL. My sister used to clean our aquarium, Ig get so tired watching her. Hehehe. I can feed the fish not clean the place.

I was puzzled with "two 4 legged kids" hehehe. LOL. Yes sometimes I consider pets as part of the family. I remember crying for a pig pet. Its hard losing them specially when we get attached. Thanks for posting your reply my friend. God bless!

I pity you my friend hehehe. There are things we need to consider about having a pet. We don't know our housemates dislikes them or allergic to pets. LOL. In your case, maybe she's afraid the puppy will drive your attention away from your mom. Isn't she jealous? hehehe I am just kidding my friend. Thank you for responding, God bless!

Wow, i cant believe Love Birds are expensive where you are, here you can buy them in pairs very cheaply.
I have 4 small dogs, 3 cats (1 is only young though), 2 turtles & a Cockatoo - which i would consider a fairly expensive bird but there are ones that are worth a lot more - to me though, he's priceless:)
I have included a photo of the turtles for you to see - i would have added one of my Grinchy (Cockatoo) but i haven't got one on the computer - they're all on disks now!

I think you are correct. It is hard to tell on the all yellow birds, but there are a few birds that are definitely budgie/parakeets. I didn't know that budgie/parakeets were known as lovebirds anywhere in the world.
We have 2 blue masked love birds and they were not very expensive at all. Especially not compared to how much a Cockatoo would cost.

You must name your birds differently to what we do here - those birds you are showing in the photo are what we call Budgerigars/Budgies - they are probably the cheapest bird you can get here in Australia - i have attached a photo of what we call 'Love Birds'!

Oooooooh boy! How many pets do I HAVE? I have a cat, dog, gerbil, and 9 hermit crabs! My cat is Wilbur, my dog is Jake, my gerbil is Little Bit, who I should now name Big Bit because she has grown, and the nine hermit crabs are Buddy, Eugene, Pearl, Auburn, Norfolk(like the train), Bill, Hunter, Lily, Lani, and two more that I can't remember.
