I was just curious about others religions. If it isnt too personal a question, and you don't mind sharing, I would ask that you tell me a little about your religion and why it is your religion. How did you come about that religion? Is it a family religion? Or did you search and find it yourself?

Religious should strictly be a personal matter. When it becomes public matter, as it is now, a religious person is more harmfull to the society as a whole than a person without god.I don't mind in sharing my personal religion with even a stranger, the only criteria is it should be worthy of it.

The Truth is with me.It is only for me.I can not share it with anybody. And I believe it is true with everybody.

So how would one become worthy of that knowledge? By using it to spread the word? Or do you just want to keep it to yourself? In most faiths, they believe in spreading the word. I mean if you believe you have the truth, wouldn't you want to tell others about it? Just curious.

I was never brought up with a strict religion, my parents were not religious and certainly didn't go to church, so it was left to me to formulate my own views, so naturally I took on christianity as it was taught at schools and I went to Sunday school, however when I was nan was cruelly taken away from at 15, after suffering 10 years of cancer I lost my faith, since the age of 15, I'm now 36 I have been atheist/agnostic and my views now stem more on the buddhist side.

Well I always believed that because my nan loved robins, and when we see a robin we always think of nan and when we visit nan's grave there is always a robin that flies around. I would love to return as a dolphin because I love the water.

I guess if I have to put a label on it I am a Baptist. I attend a Baptist church and have my entire life. The more important thing is I am a born again child of God. Being a Baptist won't get me to heaven but being a born again child of God will. The term religion gets a lot of abuse and many people try to lump us all together. I see religion as being a state of one's personal beliefs and Baptists usually believe the same way I do. However, I do get my belief from the bible. I have studied it for most of my life and I accept it as the word of God. I hope this answers your question.

Religion is such a wide spread word. I believe in God and the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule.
I believe if you try to live by these things, ( which is hard, since we are human and not perfect), and ask for forgiveness, when we do make mistakes, Heaven is waiting for us.
Being kind, telling the truth, etc., is the true meaning of walking in the footsteps of Christ.
I do not define 'religion'. If you believe in God and at least try to do the right thing in this life and do not follow the ways of the world, you will be blessed in His eyes.

I was raised catholic, but i don't really follow, it, i was baptized and made my first communion, but after that i didn't really pay much attention to it! i did baptize my kids, but in all honesty it was only to get my parents and family off my back, my parents said they were literally going to take my kids and baptize them themselves if i didn't do it by the time my oldest was 6, b/c after 7, they have to do first communion b 4 they can get baptized! but i did it! i don't think u have to be part of a religion to go to heaven, i think u can just believe and pray and not sin too bad! i know i'm gonna go cause i'm an angel 0-: ) he he!

If you had asked just "What is your religion?" I probably wouldn't have replied, since there have been many of those discussions. But since there are many other questions here, I'll give it a go!
I am a Celtic Reconstructionist, which is a form of Paganism. What that means is that I follow the Gods of the ancient Celts (a people that spread across Europe, though specifically my ancestors lived in Ireland). I call myself a "reconstructionist" because much of the old Celtic religion was lost to history, so what I do is reconstruct it, using things taught to me by my great-grandmother, historical sources, personal revelation, and inferences drawn from the religious practices of other similar cultures.
I have the religion I do for a few different reasons.
1) My great-grandmother, whom I loved very much was of this religion
2) A Celtic Goddess appeared in my dreams when I was very young, around four years old, and offered me strength and comfort at a time when I had very little of either.
3) My Gods are the ones that I have felt a real connection with in all my studies of different religions.
4) The focus on personal responsibility and honor as opposed to sin and forgiveness appeals to me, because I believe people should be held accountable for harm they cause, to an extent.
My religion is polytheistic, highly involved with nature, has a strong focus on honor, involves a belief in a spirit world both seperate from and related to the physical world, involves ritual and spellcraft, celebrates the turning of seasons, and encourages a strong commitment to family (whether that family is chosen or biological).
My whole family isn't the same religion as me... in fact, other than me, my great-grandmother was the last in that family to be a pagan of any sort. However, she learned from her mother before her, and so forth quite a ways back, or so she told me.

Hello stacy81, for me personally I can say that I don't need to claim any religion for myself because being a child of God...what I truly care and what my life is on focus right now is my personal relationship with my Savior. I do believe that religion itself is not the way of salvation itself, but it's our relationship with our Savior...I mean, our personal relationship with Him in our lives. :-)
