I dont have very many about 10 or 12. I have some family ones but I dont have many movies now I have loads of CDs because I listen to them over and over again but I dont care to watch more than 4 of my DVD movie more than once. My best friend's husband has hundreds and she says he hardly ever watches them more than once but keeps on buying new ones! I just dont get it? I get movies from Netflix watch them and send them back.
How many do you have? Why? Is it an addiction? Do you watch them more than once?

If one could copy movies for about .25cents each and I am sure no one would do that because it is illegal. One could copy netflix movies all summer then watch them in the winter when it was not so pleasant to be outside. This seems like a good idea but I could be wrong, I have been before.

Personally I think you are again!! It don't think it's a good idea as I would have to invest in a 2nd DVD recorder/player to copy it and then pay for a lawyer when I got caught.

A dreadful "faux pas" sorry. I did not know that was how to copy movies. I never really checked it out but that seems doable. Thanks!

What do you mean again. When have I ever been wrong you don't seem to understand that I know everthing and if there is something I don't know it most likely is not worth knowing, and if you don't believe me just ask me. On a lighter note it only takes one dvd recorder, it down loads to your hard drive then plays back to your dvd recorder. The internet is full of programs that will let you record a movie. The laws were set up to stop people from causing copyright holders from losing money.

Between us my partner and I have far too many dvds now. A lot of them are music dvds and those are usually kept seperate. I have around 150 dvds of my own and my partner has at least 100 but I have to confess I do have a collection of Johnny Depp dvds I keep for my own viewing :-) We have been thinking about getting rid of a lot of the dvds now, maybe listing them onto eBay.

We have had hundreds of videos & a lot of DVD's. Thius stems from my steo childrens addiction to watching TV, which I have little control over. My husbands work mate was selling off all his old videos for $1.00 each, so hubby bought a lot. Some of the very old ones are actually very good movies.
I don't watch a lot of TV, as I simply don't have time. Also, I tend not to watch a movie more than once, but there are some exceptions. For example, The Hunt for ed October, Witness, The Day After & Independance Day".Oh, and Pearl Harbour.

I don't think I could pass up getting some for $1.00 each either.

I have many dvds and my collection increases weekly by virture of a dvd recorder. Most of my dvd's are recorded from tv and I keep a large collection because having cable tv it sometimes goes out and we sometimes have some very poor programming. I have movies of all kinds just so I never lack for entertainment for myself or friends or my grandkids even. I never know when I am going to just decide I want to watch such and such a movie, so it helps to have them. I also rent from netflix, that way I know which ones I will watch for on tv to record...:}

My husband is a movie freak. He makes lists of all of the released movies every year, foreign and domestic and rents them all so he can say he's watched them. I guess that makes him a well-rounded person? but it drives me nuts that he watches movies he knows nothing about and is watching it just because it's on his list! I at least have to think I'll like the story line or the actor playing the part or it has something to do with my interests. Something! We do own a few. He buys stuff I'd never watch and they sit on the shelf for the most part. I buy stuff I'd watch over and over, but I don't have too many as of yet.

I have about 40, many of which I bought 2nd hand. The others are all 2nd or 3rd rate movies, not very good. A few are really, really bad. LOL. Unfortunately I don't think I've even watched one all the way through because for some reason when I sit down to relax in front of the Tv I fall asleep. LOL.

I have more VHS tapes than DVD's. I love movies and if I like a movie i try to get it either on tape or DVd. That way if I see a movie that reminds me of a film, I can see it. Or if I see a profile of a star, I can see my favorite film of theirs. And there are some films that I can see on a continous loop and never get tired of.But if I just want to see a film once, I would either wait for it to come to cable or Net Flix it.

I too have way more VHS tapes than DVD's. I still tape some movies and my 2 soaps if a I am not going to be home. BTW I think Netflix is amazing I send a movie back and they have received it the next day and when they send one to me I get it the next day. How come I receive their mail so fast and yet a letter in the US mail can take about 3 days??

At last count we had around 150 DVD's. Most of them are my partners, but I did decide to add a few to the collection after we moved in together lol.
We do watch them more than once - much more than once, so we do get our use out of them. It's getting to the point now though where we need to buy a new bookcase, because our collection currently has filled a 4 shelf bookcase, and we're still adding to it.
I don't think it's an addiction for my partner. However he does work in the film/tv industry, and so he is a huge movie buff. He watches DVD's on a far more consistent basis that me and the kids, though I do sit down and watch a movie with him at least once a week.

I think I have about 75 to 100 dvds.
I have some that I enjoy watching and have watched again a couple of times. Among those are the Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and various Monty Python and Pythonesque movies. All stuff I will watch again.
For current flix I use blockbuster stores and online. I like there total Access plan that you get a free rental from the store for returning the movie there.
With the online I usually pick older movies and documentaries, I watched the original Wicker Man from late 60s early 70s through the online blockbuster, and with the store I pick the current ones with an occassionall dvd from the middle, over a year old, movies.
The only ones that I will buy now are either ones that are used at blockbuster and on special, or documentary or special interest dvds.

I think they are working on a deal with movielink which has downloadable movies and videos. I haven't heard anything in a while but with blockbuster getting theirs up and running I'm sure it will be soon.

I have about 135 movies in my dvd collection and I watch the ones that I liked the most numerous times. Some movies just sit in my entertainment center and collect dust while others get watched numerous times, like Lord of the Rings and now Pirates of the Caribbean. Some movies I definitely regretted buying but not too many of them. I like having a variety of movies to watch and not have to worry about returning them or being charged late fees.
