We've been having a few problems because our carbamate formula for our dog seems to be a little bit ineffective these past few weeks. There'll still be dog ticks!!!!
Yuck!!!
I have uploaded a photo of one of those ticks that bothered me sooooo much.
Can you recommend other rememdies for dog ticks other than carbamate formulas??? But please, dont be too alarmed for our dog, she's fine, (her case is not of the emergency level) she's just not 100% tick-free...

Not sure if they're available in your country or not, but either Frontline Plus or Advantix works good for fleas and ticks on dogs/cats(the medicine you put on their backs/shoulder area). One thing I have noticed though, the fleas and ticks seem to devlop an immunity to it, so I try to switch off which one I use every year or so. I hate fleas and ticks as well...nasty little critters!

tick tweezers are very good. they're like reverse tweezers, that open when you squeeze them.
if you put the tips in hot water then the temparature makes the tick let go, and you can twist them out quite easily.
if you don't want to do that, if you cover the tick over with vaseline then they can't breathe and will drop off.

I have never had any problems with Frontline Plus. I've tried other brands, and have still found fleas and ticks. So now I just use frontline because the bottom line is that it works the best.
Ticks do carry lyme disease (among other things) which your pet and by extenion you and your family can get if they are near your dog. I would make it a priority to get rid of all ticks as fast as possible.
One thing that has helped me in my battle with the fleas and ticks, is keeping the yard mowed. If you get rid of grass and weeds, the sunlight does kill them, and they become visible prey for the birds.
Another tip is to mix a solution of a few ounces of bleech to a gallon of water and spraying your yard with it. If you get the mixture right, it will not harm your grass but will kill the insects.
Hope that helps.

I'd be alarmed if my dog had even ONE tick. Ticks carry all sorts of diseases and you only need to be bitten by one to contract something deadly.
To prevent them from ever attaching, use K9 Advantix or Frontline Plus (its waterproof so you can still bathe the dog). With all the products on the market today, your dog should never have any sorts of parasites. Having "Just One" can cause lots of irreversible damage and there really is no reason for it as its 100% preventable.

Oh, that is a gross picture! But ten years ago I saw one like that a little bit bigger - on the side of my dog's face. I lived with my parents then, so I got it off, but my mom had to kill it. It grossed me out to no end. Now days, my two dogs are covered by Frontline. It costs a little money, but after trying so many things, I've never seen anything work better. It is amazing.

I know, I hate ticks and they seem to be really bad in my area this year. I use a product from one of our feed stores in town. It is called BioSpot, and I think it works just as well as Frontline, it is just a little cheaper to buy and I don't have to get it from my vets office. I also in the past have just checked my dog every day and remove any ticks left on them.

I know exactly how you feel. We are surrounded by fields and trees, so it's almost impossible to keep them away. I have 4 dogs. But we dust our dogs weekly with 7 dust 5%. It works great on fleas and ticks. If you have carpets in your home you can also dust them once a month, let it sit for about 30 minutes and then vacuum it up. That kills any fleas or eggs in your carpets. Mopping other areas with 20 mule team borax also keeps the fleas down.
