Just Remember Things Can Only Get Worse

I am sitting here seething with absolute anger and I feel like SCREAMING! What with the probs with my GP and having a real tough time of it at the moment and thinking nothing can get worse right? WRONG! My mobile phone was stolen today from the gym! I can't believe why I'm having all this bad luck, just when I'm trying to get on top of my depression I get struck down again, like I'm not meant to be happy I went to the gym today at 12.30 and I always leave my bag in the mens changing room I've no reason not to, everyone does, I've been doing it since 2005. My mobile is in my side pocket, I don't realize it's been taken till I get home, I drive back to the gym and inform them that someone has stolen my phone. They are extremely helpful and inform the manager who is absolutely LIVID he hasn't had one single case of theft in 8 years. When the guy rings my mobile number it's engaged, of all the AUDACITY! I've cancelled the phone through my mobile company and it's insured and I went and reported it to the police, but the worst loss is that it held all my pictures of my beautiful cats, I don't have a digital camera so I took photos of them all together on my mobile, it's also got pictures of people who were precious to me. I am totally and utterly gutted, I just feel so sick, what have I done wrong, why is life so against me, it doesn't rain it pours. Sorry this time I do need sympathy and I think about all my personal information and pictures and phone numbers I kept on that phone and I just want to get hold of the person and strangle them with my bare hands. They have a check in system at the gym, so they know who was in there at the time, but it's proving it, I have my suspicions too but again how can I prove it? On top of the GP episode, there's only so much one can take

Awww I am sooo sorry you are having such bad luck, you know when you have enough of it, it probably means that something very good is going to happen to you, at least that is the way it always is with me, seems like when the bad things start happening they just keep going until I am at my breaking point and then suddenly turn around for me. Just be thankful you had insurance on your phone and able to get a replacement. Things could always be worse, you still have your friends here at myLot that care about you and will always be there for you. Take care.

I know the feeling and welcome to my world- I feel as though someone has it in for me as well Here's why: I had $300.00 stolen from me- my husband lost his wallet - my friend may lose her house- I have had 13 people I know die since Feb- my dog hurt his leg and I will have to take him to the vet- my basement is leaking from rain and it hasn't stopped raining for two days- I am so tired all the time and in general do not feel well- I work with a nasty B*tch whom I would love to put in her place but need this job badly right now....... Do you feel any better or shall I keep going .... cause there is more but I am depressing myself even more by typing this- I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

By the way - I am very sorry you lost your pictures- that is one thing that I would be upset about too- but be thankful it wasn't the loss of someone near to you.

Awwww .. wolfie petal .. wish I could give you a really big hug and hold your hand .. what an awful time you are having .. :o( I know you say it can only get 'worse' .. but give yourself a huge pat on the back .. because you are coping .. you went to the gym reported the phone missing .. cancelled it with the mobile phone company .. reported the loss to the police .. You did really well .. you didn't fall to pieces .. you set about sorting it all out .. that's coping .. so well done to you ;o)

It was my anger and andrenalin that was helping me to cope, and the thought of what I'd do to the guy if I could get my hands on him.

that's really bad. I hope they find it. I never have a cell phone, but my husband did and he never stored anything there aside from hardware stores etc. we used to have the feature on the home phone for speed dial, this was where we kept friends and relatives numbers, but now we don't have this anymore since we moved. It seems that you suspected somebody already so why don't you tell them so they can do a check on this person?

Trouble is it's proving it, isn't it, if I wasn't so honest I would find out where he parks his car, and proving that I hadn't scratched his car would be the same as proving that he didn't steal my phone ;0)

I'm sorry Wolfie. I know how bad it is for you to lose your phone especially with important pics on it. If you suspect someone. I would go up to that person and do some chit chatting with them. Ask them if they have ever had anything stolen from the gym . Then tell them your story about how your cell phone was stolen and you are upset because of the pics on it. Since they cant use it anymore they might like leave it somewhere where you can find it. or turn it in.. Who knows. its worth a shot. I would try anything.. Good luck my dear friend xxx

Oh wolfie. I'm sorry to hear about your stolen mobile. I can understand you perfectly as I was also a victim last year. My mobile was a month old only and it took me months to save money so I can buy a newer model. I remember that my mobile was safely tucked inside my purse. I never placed my purse anywhere. I was in a burger house with my girls and all the while I was carrying my purse. It must be fate that my mobile was destined to be lost that day. When I got home, my mobile disappeared. I can't remember anyone approaching me or even standing close to me. I was so upset and sad at that time. Guess what, I decided to buy a cheaper mobile and its still with me until now. You're not alone, wolfie.

First wolfie - I am sorry I have come late to this discussion. I wasn't around here yesterday so I'm running late. I know sometimes things seem to just go on a downward spiral, but I often find that when things seem to have hit rock bottom, some little ray of light comes in the cheer things up and make them better. Hope that happens for you.

Sadly not my friend, they couldn't have cameras in the changing rooms because of privacy and that's where it took place. I'll have to trawl Ebay, seems stolen stuff end up there!

Hi my friend, that really su*ks! I hope that person gets caught and you get your phone back. Most cell phones have a GPS chip in it so why can't you report it to the police and have them call your cell phone service provider and trace where the phone is presently located? If you can find a location where the phone is and then go to the manager of the gym and give him this information maybe the person who you have in mind lives in that area and can get caught.

There is a belief that is said that we influence our life by what we think. there are two kinds of energies in life: a negative energy and a positive one. If you will think that bad things will happen to you then probably they would. if you think in a positive way, good things will happen. Try that. there is nothing to lose.

I totally agree with you. I do have bad things happen to me and so does everything else. Its all in how you look at it. Find positive out of the negative. Yes there is a positive side to every negative. If nothing else a lesson learned so you don't repeat whatever it is again. I get down once in a while but I always bounce right back because I see the good things that come next.

Oh honey life is not being very kind to you at all just now - is it sweety! This is where I shpuld be coming round with the coffee and the hob nobs, not forgetting those great big hugs {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{WOLFIE)))))))))))))))))), hope since I can't be there I hope these hugs help! I know how it feels to be stolen from in this way and it is really not nice! I know it is a bit late and I really only thought of this after my last phone was stolen but most phones now have usb cables and software (samsungs are great for this) and you can back up EVERYTHING on your phone on a computer or flash drive, it really is invaluable! I do so hope Honey that everything starts to look up for you soon, worried about you honey, but this time things really are going to get better! Lotsa luv and hugs xxx

Hugs appreciated my friend, I think I must have been evil in my last life, either that or someone is sending me bad karma, I am not good with gadgets I have to admit and I'm quite a technophobe, so I wouldn't know how, daft ain't I

To add salt to the wounds the insurance company doesn't pay out if you leave your bag unguarded in a public place, they've got you always, grrrr first thing tomorrow I shall be cancelling that useless insurance scheme, what's the point in insuring phones anyhow!

do not let them get you down. You just remember that you are going to see the sunshine and this like a little rain- and this too will pass...you will have your wonderful days....its always hard when it all happens at once but it does this to all of us at times....and I could give you a long list of examples.....

Hi Wolfie, I think when you're depressed, everything, even little things wear you down. I know it really is a bad thing to get your mobile phone stolen but I think if you weren't depressed in the first place...in isolation it would be a bad thing, but not part of a long line of things getting worse. I don't think you're coping and need some time out. It's not life that is against you, it's just that these things happen to anyone....and they're not personally aimed at you.

well, I think you can get some kind of gps service to track the phone and tell you its location. Which you could take to court in evidence of the person who stole it, if its at their house and you can look up the address. But on a non legal note. I am so sorry that this happened to you. I cannot believe someone had the audacity to do that. It sucks that people can be so selfish to just steal something and not realize the worth to the other person,.The phone can be replaced but there are memories, harbored in there. like the pictures and such. Again, I am so sorry you had to endure this. I hope I have helped you in some way! You are such a nice person and do not deserve this type of thing.

Wolfie, I'm so sorry that these awful thing happen.I wish I could do something to help you. Maybe the person will drop it back at the gym if you say no questions asked. It's not like it's going to be much use to them if you have contacted your cell company. Hope you get it back. Hugs

Oh my poor Wolfie...it does seem that you have run into a little streak of bad luck....I am so sorry.... Would it helped if I told you that you could burn 150 calories if you bang your head against the wall for an hour.....please tell me that you are laughing...or at least smiling...at this statement...it is a joke!! but factual.......(Pssss....think of how many your could burn if you beat this guys head against a wall for an hour)....remember that laughter is good medicine and the only one I can tranport through this darn screen.... You are in my prayers, my friend....I know that you are having a tough time right now...wish I could be more helpful....please tke care of your self....
