Hey sodapop,
I must tell you that I have had panic or anxiety attacks all my life. The most important thing to remember is that the attacks will always pass. I can't say that you will have them from now on, but I do know that it is likely that you will. Try and figure out your triggers and avoid them. That is what I try to do. Good luck!

I've had a couple of panic attacks, but the don't happen unless I'm in a really high stress situation. Usually around college mid-terms or finals for me. I haven't had one in about a year. So I would say that if a certain situation set it off, then you probably don't have much to worry about, but if it was just out of the blue, or something mundane, then you should look into it.

I don't think you will have to worry about having them for the rest of your life. For me, panic attacks hit when I am dealing with EXTREMELY stressful situations, and I do mean very very stressful. But once the situation is dealt with, the attacks stop. My last attack was just before I quit my job two years ago. And the attacks were caused by all of the stress of the job that built up over a period of about four years. But once I left the job, the attacks stop. If you even THINK you are about to go into a panic attack, stop what you're doing if you can, and take several deep deep breaths, holding each one for about eight counts before releasing it. It really does help. But if they start getting worse, go see the doctor just to be on the safe side.

Well, my first and only panic attack happened at work because of the job and that was 5 years ago. Maybe I just shouldn't work...LOL..no, it was the stress from that job and I never went back to work there. I will try deep breaths, when I find anxiety building up.
