Well last night I was taking a shower and next thing I know I have both dogs in there with me!! They are australian shepards and sisters. They seemed to really enjoy the water. Licking up as much as they could get!!! I decided since they were alrady wet I would bath them. They liked it very much, and smell better now!! LOL. Also it was not that hard to do. I soaped them up, scrubbed, then rinsed them. I let them out of the tub in the bathroom to shake. Then I finished my shower. It was actually kinda fun!! Do your dogs like to shower with you???

We actually had one of our showers converted to accomodate the dogs, with the detachable shower head. My dogs love it and they know that they get to stay inside longer if they have a shower. I have a Doberman and an Australian Kelpie and they take turns to hop in the shower, its so cute they just walk in and stand there waiting.

I have three good size doga. Not a one of them enjoy getting wet for any reason. I always have a fight on my hands when it is time to give them a bath. Because of their size during the summer months I use the garden hose to give them their baths. I am jealous that yours will take a shower.

well, that makes us two then! we need to put so much strenght just to have our dogs taken their baths. it's so tiresome since we need to put much energy just to make them have a shower. but whenever they finished the bath, they feel comfortable. i wonder why they are scared of water when after taking a bath, they benefit from it, too.

Oh Im sorry yours dont like the bath. I have found the best way to get them in it and to like it is to: Put a collar on them {preferably a pich one} then put them in the tub with no water. Give them a treat and praise them. Now turn on the water. Give another treat then praise. Have someone else hold the dogs collar and give treats and praise while you wash them. This will make bath time a good experiance!! Good Luck!!!

lucky you for having dogs who love water!my dog hates to take a bath. i tried to bring him to the bathroom late this afternoon for her bath. but when she realized i was bringing her inside the bathroom, she struggled and i had her loose. and she hid under the kitchen table obviously making me feel that she does not want to take a bath.
i bathed her many times already. but it's always a struggle for me and her. but we always make it. just that there are times when it's difficult to make her take her bath.

No, my dogs hate bath time, and getting wet in general lol. And it's funny, because 2 of them are lab mixes....but they love going in the shower after I'm done and licking all the water off the floor and walls :)

My dog avoids the tub or shower when I'm using it. She will stand still if I have to give her a bath but I don't think she likes it at all. She doesn't even like swimming. We put her in a pool a couple of times and she didn't seem too crazy about it.

You might try different shampoos. Pico is really good about letting me soap her up IF I use one that smells like plants - pine or something and is scented with natural oils. Cedar and tea tree oil - both of which are ok with her are good for fleas too.

Up until a few years ago, I've always had a dog and or cat, believe it or not, they always liked the water... sometimes the cat would even jump in the kitchen sink while I was doing the dishes! :)
They both loved the shower, too! :)

Your very lucky. I wish mine would do that. I have five dogs and they are a lab/rot mix. The biggest one is about 110 pounds. At bath time we practically have to drag them into the tub. It takes two of us to do it, one to hold and one to do the bath.

The more times you bath your dog the better they will be about it.

No my dog doesnt like the water at all and I have to carry him to the shower, bath for his weekly wash. He hates the hose but loves swimming pools and the beach funny really. It would make life much easier if he did then I could chuck him in with the kids and save water. He even is funny about his water bowl and has to be incouraged to have a drink most days.

We used to have a dog who had to have daily baths in the summer for allergies. I used to wash her with my brother - then a toddler. My mom always got mad at me, but I figured it wasn't like they weren't crawling in all the same places. Not the mention my brother was only getting a bath every other day at that point! She hated baths, but was better when in with her boy. And my brother thought it was the coolest thing ever!

We had 2 Akitas several years back and Kobe liked the water and Kobuc would literally scream when you put him in it. My neighbors probably thought we were killing him. We now have an Akita who weighs 125 lbs., and a boxer who weighs 50 lbs., No tub showers for them... so I bathe them outside and they seem to be okay with it. When our Akita was a puppy he used to lick the water when my grandson was in the tub. We used to have a cat named Shrek and he had to be in the shower with me. I mean under the shower head. I had to hold him up as close to the shower as I could. I had to give him his shower first which could have lasted all day for him, and then I had to dry him off and scoot his butt out of the bathroom in order for me to take my shower. I could hear him crying outside the door...

Pico usually hates getting wet, but when she gets dirty, she greatly prefers the shower. She even wrote a blog post about it - http://misspico.wordpress.com/2006/06/12/spa-day/ She also sticks her head in the shower to check on me and lick the falling water - she LOVES to drink water! She also will lick my toes dry when I get out of the shower.

I think it's great! I have arthritis and sometimes drying between my toes is a problem, so it's wonderful to have Pico do it. Luckily her pawther doesn't mind either!

My dogs don't like to take a shower. It's very hard to bathe them because they would run away from me. That's why every time I decide to bathe them, I must first close all the doors and windows of our house...hehehe
