Is CGFNS really necessary?

I want to clarify things because some said that taking up CGFNS exam is not necessary..is it true?what is the importance of CGFNS for nurses who wants to work in US?

That depends if you wish to be an immigrant or if you wish to work only. CGFNS is an important supporting document in applying for nurse green card, but it is not an authorization to practice nursing in the US. In other words, it allows the foreign nurse to come as an immigrant worker but it do not allow her to work as a nurse in the US.
But in some states... they require that you take CGFNS first before NCLEX like New Jersey. Please visit the Board of Nursing of specific state you wish to apply for their requirements. Hope this helps.
