Do you know what a secret shopper is besides being the scum of the earth, a spy. Probably someone that can't get any other kind of job so they have to make the life of a clerk miserable. I WORK AT AN OSCO AND WE GET SECRET SHOPPED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH AND THE END OF THE MONTH. THEY GRADE YOU ON HOW WELL YOU KISS THEIR BUTTS, IF YOU MAKE EYE CONTACT, GIVE THEM THE RIGHT GREETING AND CLOSING, SUGGEST THEY BUY SOME OTHER PRODUCTS ETC. I think customer know what they want to buy without me suggesting they spen more money. We also have to tell them about the extreme value which is a specific product that they say is on sale. Stores should hire robots if they want everyone to do the same thing over and over and over and over again. They have no compassion for what else you might be doing at the same time, like helping someone on the phone or fixing another proble, It sucks. I would be embarassed to say I was a secret shopper, they probably can't hold any other kind of job.

I am PROUD to say I work as a secret shopper. I give my shops a fair chance and the benefit of doubt. I WANT to give them a good score, but if they ignore me what am I supposed to do? I take it you got a bad score and was reprimanded for it. (ps I have a dgree and could get any job I want, I choose to do this for I could stay home with my baby. Its a great way to earn extra money).

Sorry to say I don't believe you. It s my opinion and I will keep it. Jewel Osco hires Mystery Shopper that are scum. They stayed in business for many years without spying on their employees so why change now. They could use that money to pay employees more instead of giving to spies

Employees would be able to serve customers better if employers would staff the way they should. I work at the camera counter I do 30 minutes film processing, digital printing as well as ringing up customers, redeem lottery and answering the phones etc. I am usually alone. It's not a problem until all your machines go down at the same time and you have a line of customers who want their pictures NOW. NO shopper knows this all they know is you didn't kiss their butt hard enough when you rang them out, or didn't push for them to buy something else because the next phase of this brilliant idea is suggestive selling, or you didn't ask them if they would like the extreme value. I would suggest toilet paper so we could go home and wipe their butt for them. And who cares if you have a degree or not, you could have a degree in forestry or palm reading. I think Secret Shoppers should be eliminated all together. I would like to see the marketting genius that thought of this work in my department one day because they couldn't handle it.

This is your opinion. Not every shopper is the same some go to the trouble of putting in detail and notice when someone does good. This is your opinion. Companies reward staff because of mystery shoppers they reward staff and give them pay rises because of the good words a mystery shopper tells the company. Yes there may be some shoppers who tell the company negative things. There are bad people in the world. However you base your facts on the minority. I feel really angry that you would say every mystery shopper is the same and to call us the scum of the earth. Actually I'm a happily married woman with a 2 year old daughter and I'm also training to be a counsellor. To help other people. I can't afford to go out so mystery shopping helps me to pay for going out as well as helping the company and the shoppers experience. Actually quite often staff have been praised because of the reports I've given. I hardly ever just give negative reports and if I have to then I do so constructively and suggest areas of improvement. There are some mystery shoppers who go out of there way to help staff get pay rises and provide accurate details. It isn't the shoppers fault if you cannot do your job properly they are only reporting the facts. Plus the fact that if your company is getting secret shoppers then the company is doing well for themselves because they can afford to get mystery shoppers. It means the company has faith in their staff because they are saying "We have faith in our staff come and see".

My company does not reward you for anything except laziness. Good workers just get more work and lazy ohnes get escuses that they can't handle as much as the good ones can.
