Lots of parents wonder if their kids are listening. Well, I've got proof that mine is!
Today my toddler angrily announced that she was going to put me in a time out, if I didn't give her what she wanted.
I laughed and gave in!
Who could argue with logic like that?

My 3 year old bowls in a youth league and she runs up to the line with the ball and throws it and says, "Go to Time Out Pins" and then dances when they fall it is so cute.
She has also started correcting us, if I cough and my hands are full, so I bury my face in my shoulder, "You are suppose to cover you mouth, try again".
I think she is the cuties.

You just wait! I was in the same spot as you two years ago, and I questioned whether or not mine would ever speak. And, now she won't shut up! Not that I would want her to do so. Actually I worry more when I don't hear her talking in the house somewhere. It means she's up to mischief! Thanks for dropping by!

I love it lol. Well mummys are not exempt from time out for bad behavior. Looks like you are going to have to learn how to behave better in future. Thanks for the giggle it has made my day.

i find it cute when i hear words coming out from my children's mouth which make so much sense and these are even their originals. sure your child is definitely one who knows how to observe how things are going around. taking note of how you have been ignoring him, he immediately thought of a way to call your attention. so very witty for a child, so very observant and so attention getting. yes, i agree with you that no mother can ever let go of that opportunity to serve the child's needs.

She is just the most amazing person. Certainly I am blessed to be her mother!

I have had a similar experience with my daughter. May I ask if you actually did something that you have said to be wrong or did you just not give her what she wanted?

My son has done a similar thing. He was mad at me one day about something I wouldn't give in about. He went and got his dress me Elmo stuffed animal and put him in the naughty chair. He did everything exactly the way I do it. He even went and sat next to him to talk about it before he let him get up.
I was laughing so hard while trying to pretend I didn't see it all happening.

That is too hilarious! Sometimes my daughter will put her cabbage patch doll into time out. Kids are really funny people.
