Bravo! Finally I think for the first time for the longest time Filipinos has finally looked beyond popularity, beyond media mileage and of course monetary value. Maybe this is the results of the things that happens in the past that opened our eyes of what is the result of our votes. Yes! Politics is a dirty game, trust me, take the most honest man you know and submerge him to the political system of our country and he will come out black and evil. Promise! He will even go to Hell! I just hope that what we chosen, the newly elected "lesser evils" will look beyond "pork barrel and kurakot" that our senate environment has to offer and focus in true service to their voters.
In addition, I would like to commend that we Filipinos have chosen the younger generation of politicians. I just hope that they will not be sleeping, texting and even making "chismisan" inside the senate hall. Because honestly, whenever I watch senators on T.V and saw them sleeping and texting and even making jokes inside the senate during plenary. I want to ask for my TAXES back! GOSH! I am paying for this kind of service?! And we teachers are even telling our students that its impolite to text inside the classroom, good thing my students dont watch senate hearings!

I just hope that these new breed of young politician will bring back the honor and integrity of our Senate. And as you mentioned, hopefully their stand will not be carried away by graft and corruption and they will serve as good example to their fellow senators in doing their job. But victory of changes was only experienced in the Senate, congress will be bringing the same faces of pro-administration people. I'll be looking forward to the emerging bitter rivalry between the Senate and Congress. One more thing, I want Lt. Trillanes to have at least a seat in the senate. I believe in the principle of this man.

Two days before the election, I had the opportunity to ask a simple person about his choices for senators. He told me and added that people now are wise and not easily swayed by promises. We happen to coincide in two of our choices and then I realized that indeed, he may be right in his observation after all.
While I thought that he would vote for the most popular choices such as actors or traditional politicians known for their bribery prowess, he was going for those candidates who stood for everything against the incumbent. Cheers for him as most of his choices have been already proclaimed!
