Just because you don't have cash on you doesn't mean that you can't have fun. That's the way I see it.
Me and my friends, well let's just say, most of the times, we are broke. But that doesn't stop us from still seeing each other and hanging out. I mean who says that you can only have fun with money?
Whenever we are broke we usually go to the mall, and just look around and hang out, but if we're feeling a little adventurous and the weather is good, then we usually go to Bahrain fort which is like this historical forts, it's really old and actually a monument, but it's so fun to be there, I love old creepy looking places and it's big so we go around it, sometimes take nice pictures and just have a fun day.
No reason to stay at home, even if you don't have money, although I do enjoy being at home too.
So, where there's a will, there's a way, and if you look hard enough you will definitely find a free way to enjoy.
So, what to you do for fun with friends when you're totally broke?

When I am broke and want to hang out, my boyfriend and I will sometimes just go for a nice walk. We enjoy the scenery around us and even take some time to just relax in a park or something.
Another fun thing that I like to do when I am broke is go to events at my local comic shop. They have all sorts of free or really inexpensive gaming nights where you get to meet other people and play trivia and board games. All you need is a few dollars for a charity dontation and you can hang out there for hours.

I'm almost like you in this respect . When i don't have enough money I just wouldn't stay up home and gape . i would rather go to one of me closest friends and find some rejoicing by way of merry talk.

I am broke more than not, so this is an easy one for me. We have a group of friends that will all get together at my house. We even bring the kids. Everyone brings a snack and their own drinks so it doesn't cost us really anything. We have a pool and hot tub so the kids are very happy:)
I have another set of friends that we get together with and have game night. We usually will order a pizza and play games. Next week we have game night set and we will be playing family fued.
There are lots of things to do that don't cost money.

Yeah, a LOT of ways to enjoy, you got that right! Well anyway, I enjoy some free haircuts myself. There's this really good salon here, that is also an institute for teaching hair cuts, and whenever they have students they need people for free haircuts and me, my sisters and my friend go for it all the time, it's so much fun, it's free and the haircuts turn out really good, because the students are supervised by the best stylists..

haha! i love this discussion. thanks vega!anyway, it's true that one can have fun, too even without the need of spending too much.
i love to be at home. and at times when my friends want to come over, i am happy to spend time with them. we cook food together... usually, spaghetti. and eat it together. and we're already that happy... watch movies together and that's perfect for us!there are times when i go out with my friends and stay in a park near home. we just sit there, talk, and take pictures! hehe. simple but really good especially when we are all broke.

when im broke i avoid mall. lol.
usually i just run down to the kuta beach and sit there, waiting for the sunset and play with sands and coral. Most of the days i spend my time alone but by this way, i don't feel alone watching kids playing and people. Theres many massages i got by sitting in the sands like that. I see 2 old couple that hand in hand walking by the beach. Oh such a view and inspiring.May be they are tourist tat want to rewind their young memories in that beach. Or watching other people kids and how they otomaticaly learn by playing. Such a view in God hands.
Can you post the Bahrain fort picture? i like to know the creepy monument if not make you busy :)

My friends and I would typically just hang out in the mall, usually we watch movie but if we were short in cash then we would probably be walking around, window shopping or just hanging out in the food court ar wherever we eat then we'd be spending probably a good 3 hours there just talking. Since a lot of my friends and I usually meet up after a really long time of not seeing each other, most of the time we just like to sit down and talk.

That must be because I am always broke so I don't know the difference! LOL Mostly we like to go for drives to different parks and lakes also just play games. I didn't use to enjoy playing games but now I love it. Have you played the game Settlers. If not you should. You will only play once with two people though if you try it. For sure the least to make the make interesting is 3. I think you can only play the basic game with 4 people. ( I think I got that right) Then it goes to a differnt stage and you buy a different game with can be played with the original Settlers or seperate from what I understand. My family playes all three together now that we are pro's. Might be pro's but the game is still fun as it is always different! If you have not tried it with your family or friends you really really should. Now that is free fun. Well free after you buy the game. LOL So start with SETTLERS

well mate, Credit card can be a real curse as well as a boon if used correctly and appropriately.
I have really piled up a huge bill hich is eating into my savings, but again i used it for things that i really needed at a particular time, so it helps.
Cheers

It is nice to always maintain happiness even when one is broke. I have always made sure that nothing comes between me and my comfort in life not even when i don't have money. When i am totally broke i just go to my friends and we dicuss so many things and maybe play games too.

No money is a very troublesome thing, but money is not the only life there are many things which can not be bought, so to me, even if no money is the same, nothing special.

lol yes that really happens when you do outings with your friends most of the time. you are tend to get broke. So if i get broke i just stroll with my friends on the street and go to shops of our interest like whats the latest gadget, cds , music etc.
