I know it's the practical thing to do, but what do you think about the president changing the dates of the holidays, like this coming independence day, the holiday was moved to monday instead of tuesday, I know it's because to give the employees a good break by having a long weekend. I see the advantage of it, but is it really a good thing to adjust holidays just to give in to the 'whim' of the people

I personally like it when GMA change holidays. ^_^ It's in favor of my hectic schedule. ^_^ I think its practical to change holidays. Just because the president changed holidays doesn't necessarily mean we don't reminisce the remarkable day. ^_^

yeah, it gives reprieve to our weary schedules and yes I believe that is a practical move but a wise move, that still remains to be seen

PGMA calls it holiday economics.. whether it is advantageous or disadvantageous depends on whose point of view we have to consider. some businessmen find lots of opportunities in this while others seem not to be affected. students would love it when there are longer weekends. however, it really causes much confusion among people.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what anyone thinks the president will do what he wants to do it doesn't seem to matter the feelings of other people.

It's nonsense to transfer dates because we cannot change the date of occurrence of anything or history would be useless. But that's a show of power on the part of the powerful proving that they can do what they like. It's beneficial to some but not all the time because banking is affected also. There are more disadvantages than advantages and so I hope that those decrees changing holidays be repealed or changed sooner or later.

Changing the dates of holidays gives more boost to tourism as they say but does it give boost also to our history? She keep on changing the dates to favor some, the only dates she did not change so far is Nov 1, Dec 25 and Jan 1. Phil past presidents did not have the courage to change those holidays..does changing this have an effect to our economy? Did you feel that somehow our economy grow by changing holidays? I don't think so.

yes, i remember the time when a holiday would fall either on a thursday or a tuesday, then friday or monday will be 'sandwiched' and there will be no classes/work for two days.

Yes i think it has advantage but mostly on government employees not on private sectors. I feel annoyed for changing dates of holidays, the essence of that event why it is declared as holiday is being neglected.
