What kind of slipper are you wearing at home?

Here in my country, it's quite a common sight to see people wearing trendy looking slippers everywhere. I never owed one of those pair as I felt it is more appropriate for home use only. I went to the mall the other day and was perplexed to see a variety of slippers available. You wouldn't know which one to buy for home use and for going out. My grandmother once told me to avoid wearing open-toe type of slipper. She explained that it can make my feet wider and ugly. Since then, I always buy slipper that covered all my toes. I prefer the bedroom slipper because it is soft and comfy to wear. What kind of slipper do you like to wear at home? Do you like the rubber, leather or the bedroom type of slipper? Do you use your slipper for both home and outside use? For those with health problem, are you using any special slipper? Or are you one of those people who didn't bother to wear any slipper at all? Do share your thoughts.

What do you think baby? Should I ignore this discussion just because I did not get the email notification for it? And you know very well why that happened. :P I don't wear any footwear at home. It is barefooted so me. My floor is very clean. But that's a very adorable pair of slippers you have attached. If only bunny will strive to be as likable. :PP I used to have a pair of sandals when I walk out just around my neighborhood. After it broke, I just steal another pair of slippers from my house to wear. It's not as if I wear them often anyway.

What do I think? I think its the smartest thing that I have ever done. :P I don't need to strive to be as likable as my bunny slipper. You always find me adorable and fluffy anyway. :PP Baby wizzy stealing another slipper? I wish I can steal something here in my house too. :PPP

Oh well - you'll love these - because I actually have a pair of Bunny slippers. They are big. fluffy, furry, things with floppy ears and big eyes!!! England is not the warmest place to ive - even in mid-Sumer it can get quite chilly in the evenings, and my fluffy slippers are the best! As for big, wide, ugly feet - I have those anyway - I was born with them!

People do wear lots of slippers, flip flops and clogs, including some called crocs, that are a special kind of rubber. I do not like flip flops, I wear bedroom slippers in the house. I have a couple of pairs of clogs, no crocs. I need much more support that these shoes do not provide, so I usually wear athletic style shoes for the most part.I will wear a leather sandal, if I can fasten it. All of those shoes, even the bedroom slipper will let your feet spread out and look fat.

Hi Charms, I am one of those people who don't bother to wear slippers LOL My socks are my slippers LOL. I don't know why either, I just never owned any. I was thinking the other day to get a pair for my son but I'm not sure if they would stay on his feet for very long as he doesn't like wearing socks and shoes. :)

It must take you ages to wash your socks then. My girls are forever leaving their slippers everywhere. I plan to paste their slippers on their feet with a special glue, LOL!

Good morning Charms, I absoulutely love your bunny slippers, they're darling. I have several pairs of 'slipper-type' shoes. My house slippers are cushy, comfy. They are slip-on. I don't want to be bothered by having to pull them on. No ties, or snaps, or buckles. Just comfy sheepskin. And, I never wear them outside. Then I have a pair of plastic shoes that are for tending the chickens only. I don't want to track stapholococcus germs all around. So, they never track into the house. Then there's my gardening shoes. They're usually muddy and wet, so I never wear them into the house. I usually change my work shoes immediately upon returning home, and put my walk-about sandals on, or my slippers -- if my little toes are cold. But, I don't have any adorable animal slippers. Oh, well.

Ahh, so you're raising chickens eh. What about bunnies? They're adorable and can be nasty at times, LOL! I am still looking for a slipper that I can easily slip on but won't hurt my heels. I'm glad you love my bunny slipper. Its the best.

Hello there , Personally I do not wear slippers much at all. I prefer to go barefoot wheneven I can! However, when it gets cold I do have some slipper-socks that I wear around the house to keep my feet warm, and a couple pairs of houseshoes. Once in awhile I will wear them to go out to the mailbox or such as well. When I was young I had some of the big animal ones. My boys like any kind though , and will even wear them in the summer to play around the house in!

You are right in saying that. But the weather can get a little cooler during holiday season. We have some places here where the climate can go down as low as 9 to 15 degree celsius.

I do not wear slippers at home. My home is clean enough not to dirty my feet. lol. I do wear slippers when I go out of the house. The type of slipper I wear - what your grandmother told you to avoid. I have been wearing such since I was young. With other types of slippers, I do not know how to walk. The slippers keep come off and I am left with my bare feet.

Oh really. Your fellow Singaporean friend prefer to go barefooted too. Scroll up a little and you'll see his response. Is it a part of your culture or you're just too lazy to wear slipper?

So you're saying Singaporean is adapting a little of the Japanese culture. Leaving shoes or slippers outside the house? In Taiwan, people are doing that.

To be frank, I am not sure if it is the culture or that people are plain lazy. For me, it will become an insult to my mum who cleans and mops the floor every day. I observed that many whom I visited (in their homes) do not wear slippers, only certain categories do - the rich tais tais or the rich young missies. I belong to neither category. As for the Singaporean friend further up, it would be wierd if he wears slippers at home. So far, I have not seen any guy wearing slippers in the house. btw, going barefooted is good for health if you dared walked on soil.

at home, i wear brazilian flip-flops. they're so comfy and its easy to wear and move without any hassles at all. at the same time, since the straps are made from quality rubber, they are very much durable. i love my flip-flops a lot!

my slippers - slippers i use inside the house
i was raised trained to wear slippers inside our home. my mom told me that it's not good for my health to walk barefoot on the cement floor. and since then, i hate walking around the house without wearing slippers at all. i have a separate slipper only for inside the house use. and i use the rubber flip flop ones. i tried having those soft covering toes bedroom slippers. but i am more comfortable with the rubber flip flops. ... anne

I like big, soft, fluffy slippers. The only place outside of the home I dare wear my slippers, is running out for the mail. I think it is tacky to wear slippers in public, unless of course you have some trouble with your feet. My slippers are totally enclosed, heal to toe. ANd they are so wonderful to put on after a hard day of work !!

Hi charms! am okay now after losing my cellphone, but sometimes i feel sad thinking of wasting my money, but my husband replaced it already he called me to buy for a new 1 yesterday, but am not happy at all, i still feel guilty. By the way in my house am wearing an open-toe-type rubber slipper if am not mistaken the brand of this is bananapeel, i dont like to wear slippers that makes me looks so girly type, yes i like to wear slippers that like other mens wear, beside my feet doesnt look so sexy at all, honestly its ugly and i dont have a habit of applying nail polish on it, i dont actually like a girlie type of stuffs, even in malling i also use to wear slipper (sometimes shoes).

Awww archer. You should consider yourself lucky that you have a husband who is willing to buy anything for you. Not everyone are that fortunate, you know. So stop feeling guilty and be grateful instead. I don't like banana peel brand because it tend to makes my feet dirty. I have a flip flop which is a little expensive but the curves and shapes fit my feet perfectly. I currently have a nice paint of platinum with glitters on my toes. "grin"
