I do not believe this is written in stone any where, but this is what I follow:
newborn: until 3 months
infant: until toddling about or 18 months
toddler: when they start toddling until about 3-4 years
preschooler: 4-5 years old

I think I statred calling my kids toddlers when they were about 2. Although I still call them my little babies.
2 is when they start leaning out and really losing the baby fat they are walking and talking. I don't think there is really a specific age when one becomes a toddler but I am not sure if it is written anywhere.

A baby becomes a toddler when it starts to toddle about, that is when it starts walking, but it does not do it very well. It happens around a year give or take a couple of months.

I think it is when they are about 2 years old, but I am the same as some of the others and think it doesn't matter how old they are, they will always be my babies.

I think when they turn to one year old that is when they are qualified to be called toddlers or when they start to crawl.

When babies learn to walk they are called toddlers.Usually this term is applied to one or two year old kids.Toddler stage is very important in child's life.It is a time between infancy and childhood. This is a phase in which they learn a lot of things.During toddler stage mostly kids learn to walk, talk solve problems, relate to others and much more. One major behavior for toddler is to learn to be independent, and they are more curious and they wants to be on themselves.
