Is it important to you to have items in you home or clothing because of the brand name or do you go for less costly things. I go for quality and if i find that in a cheaper product than brand names dont matter. When it comes to the kids i try to get them brand names because of the peer pressure and the other kids tend to make fun if they dont have them.

yup. most of my friends have that kind of thinking. they feel more comfortable, confident and proud when wearing expensive branded lines of clothing. i do understand them. it's just that i don't find much sense in it. it's good to buy them... but i just get hold of branded ones when it's on a huge sale... anne

eversince, i don't go for branded items. for as long as i am comfortable with it, especially the clothes, i buy them. i like the idea of saving money instead of spending so much. so, buying cheaper clothes which are also comfortable really is good for me. i do buy branded clothes sometimes, too... but only when it's on sale... anne

yes this word is true sometimes we get good or better quality for less than branded ones yet we go for branded ones bcos some celebrity endorses it , so we must first see the quality and price tag and then must choose the right product

If I can get a name brand piece of clothing at the second hand store, I do. If it fits well and looks good on me. Otherwise is is just the regular Walmart brands for me. As long as it fits and looks good.

Well, my cousin never buys brand names for their kids, instead she makes them unique looking ones, and other kids are envy of them :DDD
I was made fun of me when I was a little kid, but they stopped when I found out that I'm a cool kid they want to stick around :P
I say try to encourage them to defend their own positions, because buying things because you HAVE TO... it is like running away. :(

Sometimes yes , sometimes know.I mean I am not gonna spend hundred dollars one some shirt, but when I see something nice for reasonable price, yeah i would like to have it and I usually I am gonna buy it.But the most time, I am kinda cheap about myself and spent more money on others.

I feel in a lot of things Quality is cheaper in the long run as especially usually in clothes. I am one that Loves Clearance Sales like at JC Penny and Macy's. This is my favorite time of yr. to shop. And I always come home with some Bargains as well. If I had kids it would depend on how fast they were growing etc. but stuff that would last would be better on the pocket book in the end than settling for less.

I never buy anything high cost no matter what the brand is. I have high brand named clothing but all of it was given to me or bought at yard sales. I'm very lucky at finding good deals. Really I don't care what brand the clothing is as long as it looks good on me. My favorite place is Steve and Barry's and Nothing I ever bought there cost more that $15.

I'm the same- I buy for quality- Most clothes are brand names- That is what fits better- Levis, etc. My daughter- everything is brand name for her- I swore to myself if I had kids- I would buy whatever was in style- My parents didn't always-- and I rememeber thinking why can't I have this or that... She does pick out some non-name brand items- but mostly Limited Too- Abercrombie, etc. Other things- like towels, etc-- It's quality- I don't care for the brands.

yes is important to have items of the brand names?but are brand names worth it?how do famous companies get people to spend a fortune on brand names? To find the answer to this question, just observe the children in any school playground.
Hannah is a typical nine-years-old student at an Enghlish primary school. She's nou qute sure what a brand actually is,but she's sure of what she wants.as a part of a new sales campaign, all atudents in her class have been given a free bag with the Nike mark an it.Hannah hasn't really made the connection yet,or asked for Nike trainers, but it's only a problem of time before she does. But is it right that companies should targed such young children for their promotional activities?
Brand names seem to have power over us because they allow us to identify with a particular group of people.A brand name has a certain image. It suggest that we-re able to afford this product-and most of us like to show off what can afford. Some people also believe that brand names provide a guarantee of quality. So a brand has to provide this quality, but people will eventually stop it.
So only time will tell whether it's really worthwhile paying extra money for a brand name.Meanwhile,Hannah is delighted with her free Nike bag....this story i told you for see what is happens with brand names.

It depends on the items I'm purchasing. I go for quality and it doesn't matter if its a branded one or a local name brand. Brand names are ridiculously expensive and there are some items that's not worthy to buy.
For my girls, I do buy branded clothes and shoes but not for the sole reason of peer pressure. I want things that will last longer. I don't think its right that we need to pressure ourself to buy branded things for our kids just because other will make fun of them. I always instilled on my daughter the discipline of how to value our money.

There are a few brand names that I still use because I grew up using those brands, Jello Brand Gelatin and Pudding mix and Miracle Whip salad dressing to name a few. For other items, I use the brand name that works well for me, like OxyClean and Era for laundry. I prefer Levi's jeans my aunt said that Levi's are made better and I haven't worn another brand of tennis shoe since I tried a pair of Reeboks on.

As long as the clothing I buy is made well I couldn't care less who made the product. I don't believe that I have to pay a lot for the clothing that I wear to be able to look good. If someone doesn't like the brand of clothing I buy then they don't need to look at it. My sons don't worry about what the other children think about the clothes that they wear.

no, i don't really go for brand when i buy something... as long as it is nice and comfy for me to wear, i will buy it... i go for quality like you rather than brand... what's the use of spending extra money if you can get similar items with much cheaper price??? and i believe the quality also won't be much different...

I don't worry about the brand name when going to to buy clothing . I don't see the point in wasting big money on something because of the name of it when you could buy three or four outfits , just as cute for the same price somewhere else . I have got my children some clothing with brand names on them , because like you said , of the peer pressure but have only done this when I have found the product on sale .
I have never found the quality better . It is better in the sence that it doesn't wear out but I have never had the problem with my children wearing out their clothing it is the stains and I find the better the quality the harder it is to get the stains out .

Hi,kitkat!
I'm not a big fan of any brand names but if I'm able to afford the expensive items of brand names,I think I cannot say no to it.
Well, compared with the brand,I care the item itself more than the brand names.I have encountered somebody that she/he may wears a whole suit of a brand name clothes, but to be honest,I don't think her/his clothes are beautiful.
To be honest,if I can choose an item of a brand name,I will choose Dior.

i agree with you, the reason i buy branded thins is because of the quality, but some people dont mind quality, all they care about is when wearing a branded clothing, they think they are upper rank in the economy. i know some people do this just 4 show, it's ok 4 them not to eat 3 times day as long as they wear branded clothings/.

I go for quality. I could care less about brand names when comes to stuff in my home I care a little with clothing because sometimes the logo looks nice. Some of the cheaper stuff is of good quality just like the brand names that cost more. I'm always trying to save so I go for wht looks mie and it cheap.
