Do you know animals involved in sports? We conduct a cow race( horse race too) and cockfight. Cows has to run on a slush and two malescocks have to fight with a knife tied to their legs till other opponet dies or runs. Do you encourage animal sports? Do you conduct any sports particularly for animals?

We just had our harvest festival and the main attracton was baffalo race. Since baffalo is not like a horse the rider have to beat its back to make it run faster. I don't quite agree with animal sports. I don't see the fun in one. They only make people cheers and jeers for these poor animals and later be driven to the field to work for the master.

Ya I know that animals are involved in sports. but its not fine. Because of our enjoyment we are keeping them into the field(fighting field). No I dont encourage such type of sports. In Rajasthan, they will keep camel race also. There are number of animal sports from which number of animals hurt. I dont conduct any sports for animals. If I was given a chance in my home to buy pets and to take care of them, then I will buy the dogs and cats. And brought up them in the same environment. I will conduct sports for them only thats also for their enjoyment.

Cockerel fighting is disgusting. animals shouldn't be injured or killed for entertainment.
this hardly makes them an athlete, it makes them a victim.
real animal athletes race, or jump, or plough, or perform beautiful feats of harmony with a rider.
getting two poor creatures to fight and kill each other is not a sport.

Noted your response with thanks. Cockerel fighting is conducted not only for entertainment, but also for gambling, which is disgusting as you said.

i'm certainly no animal rights activist, but these sports sound pretty cruel to me. cows running in slush? if you mean like mud and muck and such, what happens when one falls and breaks a leg? instant barbecue? and cockfighting is as wrong as dog fights. unless of course, you want to strap a knife to yourcock and i'll strap one to mine and we see who has theirs left when we're done. what possible sense does it make to do any of this? strictly my opinions.

I am all for any animal sport as long as the animal doesn't get hurt in the process. I hate sports where the animal is forced to do certain things against its will.
