Does your town have these?

Do the cops clean up the horse poo? If not then they shouldn't ride them. I wouldn't want to have to deal with manure all over the streets if they are not cleaning up after the animals themselves. It would make them respect what they do more.

In India cops never ride horses. I have not seen and heard. But I think it looks great to see cops on horses like olden days in kingdoms, wherein King's forces used to ride horses.

Yes, but they usually only come out crowd control or riots..They are beautiful natured horses and they look spectaular.

Once I was in Chicago when the St. Pat's day parade was going on downtown. The police on horseback were very effective on controlling the crowd. It was awesome how well trained the horses were. I loved watching them, and with everything going on they were not skittish at all. Two of my brothers were Chicago cops, now retired. Too bad they never got to ride the horses downtown.

During farmers market we have the mouted police. I think they are great. They are so approachable. We also have the bike police which are in some areas of our town all the time. Our town is so spread out that it is hard to have the mounted police or the bike police.

No we don't but that would be cool if they did kind of. I am down with the whole poop and pee while you just keep walking on. Who gets to walk behind an d clean that sh** up? We have wierdo police officers on bike though. What can you do on a bike? What happens if you had to arrest someone or do a chase? (I am just messing around, I know the real answers to these questions). My kids would like to see them on horse though. they like police officers. Me... not so much... J/K I like them if they are not pulling me over, and that only happened once for so called speeding(downhill 32 in a 25 MPH, how lame is that?)

Yes we do especially when we have parades.

In my town in the summer- some police ride bicycles- We call them cycle cops- lol... No horses- Of course we still have cops in police cars also- I don't see too many cops at all in this town- pretty small town-

Oh wow, we don't really have that in our city. I've seen some police officers on horses before, but only during a special event like a festival or something. They don't usually ride horses around town on a normal day. I think it would be really cool though if they did. That would be kind of fun I think! hehe

I have seen a few in Washington DC, wondering around memorials and museums and think they are cool. Not sure about the droppings the horses leave behind but yeah, I would like to see them in action i.e. chasing a theif or something LOL

We have them, and I do not like them. Horses in a capital does not go well. They make a mess on the streets, they do not smell nice in the summer heat. On crowded streets....no, I do not like them at all

No horses rides by cops, just Bikes and patrol vehicles only. But cops on Horses simply look majestic.

I think it would be neat. We don't have anything like that here. We have a couple that ride motorcycles and then there are some that ride bicycles in the parks and the neighborhoods. The rest are in the regular police cars. It would be fun to have them on horses.

I love horses. I think they are awesome. Tere is just something about the outside of a horse that melts the inside of a man. But I hate cops. So not a good combi. Not that I am a criminal or something. It is just this irrational feeeling like how some people have a phobia for clowns. and to answer your question, no, they don't have it here.

I love everything about Lancaster, PA including the horses and the policemen. You have a gold mine there. We spent a week there two summers ago and had so much fun. We went to a buffet called, I think, "Yoders" or maybe it was near a place called that. Either way, what an amazing place and the horses just add to it. Such great memories !!

We don't have that here, but it would be interesting. Where in town do the police on horses patrol? Just in more commercailized areas or all over?

I think it's a very cool thing to see! Unfortunately, I'm sure it's a safety hazard for many reasons which is why I think we don't see it often. I live on the southeast coast and the heat about kills us. I can't imagine how the poor horses and officers would survive in these temperatures :)
