Well, I've read that fiber helps with your digestion, therefore you'll be going to the bathroom much more frequently and losing the weight through the disposal of your waste.

From what I understand the key is to eat fiber for breakfast - like whole grain oatmeal with Walnuts with a piece of fruit - and make sure your afternoon snack contains some kind of fiber but is low cal - like an apple. Combined with this you do need to eat smaller meals more often and eat a lot more fruits & veggies to get the good fiber.

I think fiber is more filling and it takes longer to break it down once you eat it in your digestive system. For instance, bran cereal will fill you up faster than the sugar coated cereal. You will feel full longer and your body will take longer to digest the food. This will keep you from eating more frequently and adding unwanted calories.

I think it does help you lose weight. It makes you want to go more often, so if you go for a walk, make sure you can get to a washroom in time. :) The food tastes better and I do have a loving for lots of fruits and vegetables. Now if only there was a way not to make pears so sticky.
