Nooooo....... no gossip! I try to avoid that, but I just have to share the fact that I started my diet two Sunday's ago, and on weighing this morning, I found that I've lost seventeen pounds in weight, and I am soooooo chuffed with the result that I can't keep it to myself!:-) I've cut down on carbohydrates, and ok, the first week, I lost mainly water but after the second week, I feel much more comfortable in my clothes and have more energy, so I'm determined to stick tight to this one! That means I'm fitter for the next walk we take together, so I'll have to think of a good one in the next couple of days. I hope you can join me for that!

Thank you very much Snow. I hope the time comes for you to move back to Arizona, very soon, as I know you'll be a lot happier back where your roots are, and that the weather is much better for you there. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Thank you so much... I can't get over it either! lol. Naturally, the loss will slow down a lot now but I'm hoping to make that up to 28 lbs in the next four weeks. That'll be the lightest I've been for years!!! :-)

I hadn't done any exercising by then, and haven't really got into a regime now, but if you want to flatten your tummy, sit-ups are about the best exercise to exercise that area. Brightest Blessings.

Thank you very much Killahclaire, and I'm glad I've inspired you some. There's something to be said for cutting carbs... I feel so invigorated, I can't tell you. I just want to go outside and jump, dance and run around. lol. There's not a full moon either! ha ha ha.

I'm 15 years old and I'm concerned about my weight. I've tried cutting down carbs and I still cant loose. How did you do it? Cutting down carbs I'll stick with, but what kinds of excersices did u do? And do you know any that works the stomach muscles the most? That would help me SO much. And I'd pass it onto my friends so they can do it with me : ) .

Hello my friend... 17 pounds in 2 weeks? I know you are feeling ecstatic right now but I have to say that you have got to be careful. 17 pounds in 2 weeks doesn't seem healthy... I think it should be about 4-5 pounds a month for healthy weight loss. So the experts say I think. Just be careful. :P

No worries, Wizzy... I'm very careful. It's normal to lose a lot of weight in the first week, because you lose retained water, but after the first week it slows to around 3 lbs a week, which is fine. I also take my green tea and my Amigo Health Supplement, which contains Mangosteen, Acai and Goji Berry juices, so I've covered myself pretty well. Thanks for your concern, my friend, and Brightest Blessings.

Hi Darkwing am experiencing weight problems at this point in my life and i would really appreciate if you could be a little more specific on what you did to loss seventeen pounds. You stated that you cut down in carbohydrates, what did you substitute the carbohydrates with? Did you have any snacks? What were your eating habits? Did you eat after Six? Did you exercise? Help!!!!!

I don't substitute the carbohydrates with anything. I just take 50g maximum of carbohydrate, include one citrus fruit, in the form of half a grapefruit, minimum, and half a pint of milk. Once I reach the 50g, the rest of the day's meals and snacks are made up of carb-free foods. There are quite a few "free foods" which are ideal for a snack. I'm not exercising yet, but intend to start shortly, with my weights, band and ball, plus a walk every day. If you'd like a copy of the diet sheet, please send me your e-mail address in PM and I'll willingly send it to you. I have it all typed up, ready to send out.

WOOOHOOOO woot woot.!~! Awesome , I am very proud of you. I think I want this list of yours. I have been trying so hard and nothing seems to work for me.I have a few medical issues that makes it harder for me to lose weight. Keep up the good work and please keep us posted Dark.
@Darkwing (21583)
11 Jun 07
Thank you so much Jeanena. I'd be quite happy to send you the list if you'd like it, but you can quite as easily check on things in the supermarket as you buy them. I eat a maximum 50g of carbohydrate, which includes one citrus fruit, in half a grapefruit (5g), no more than two eggs a day, and plenty of "free" lean meat, fish, green vegetables and salad. The carb-free fill you up if you get hungry, without crossing the limit. I drink three cups of green tea a day, by choice and in between, black coffee. For cold drink, I drink carbonated, flavoured water, but you can drink low-cal squashes and diet drinks, freely. That's an outline to it, but if you want a check-list, as I said, I'll be happy to send it to you and I will keep you all posted as to my progress, which no doubt will slow down now, but I've had a good start, so I'm happy. Brightest Blessings.

Awesome! Sounds like you have found a diet perfect for you! Care to share some tips with us? Keep up the good work, I'm excited for you!

I did use this diet once before, but it was several years ago. It worked then, so I thought I'd try it again, even though I'm older. The only tips I can give you are that I eat 50g maximum of carbohydrate per day... sometimes less. I can even eat nuts, which I love! They're restricted of course. I eat as much "free food" as I can, including lean meat, two eggs maximum per day, 4 oz. cheese plus llb cottage cheese a week, (only if I fancy it), half a grapefruit for my daily citrus which cuts the fat, fish, green vegetables and salad. When I snack, I like to have celery with Primula cream cheese piped in the groove. mmmmmmmm. I just eat plenty of free foods to fill me up and work out my remaining 50g for main meals. With the weather being warm, I've eaten a lot of salads and fruit, which can only be good! :-) Thank you for being excited for me! lol. I'm quite excited myself, right now! Brightest Blessings. :-)

I am very happy to hear that you are achieving a goal you have set for youself . It dosent' matter weather one is trying to lose weight , quit smoking or just quit any habit they have in their life , it is hard and takes a lot of effort on the person that is doing it and you deserve to be very proud of your accomplishment . I know you can do this because you have already proved to yourself that you can . My best friend is trying to lose weight and I am so proud of her because I realize how much she wants this for herself . Congratualtions and keep up the good work !!

I daresay, from now onwards, I will only drop two to three pounds a week, but I'm determined to do it, no matter what. Brightest Blessings and good luck to your friend!

Awwwww, Marlyse... I'm glad this discussion helps you but sorry to hear that you are unable to walk. I will take you on an imaginary walk, and you can stay with Gabs to get the picnic ready which Raydene is supplying for our next walk. How about that? As for my diet, I would be happy to let you have it, but please, if you're under the doctor for something, check with him/her that it's ok for you to follow it, would you? I'd hate to cause problems. I would also need you to send your e-mail address to my PM box, so that I could send it, as it breaks up in PM. Brightest Blessings, my friend, and take good care. x

Wowww, darkwing. 17 pounds in 2 weeks is pretty fast. I heard that its quite normal to lose the water retention during the first week. Just make sure to continue eating healthier food and don't forget those supplements as well. You are losing weight and so are the important vitamins and minerals we needed everyday. What about drinking some protein powder. It's a good option for those who are trying to lose weight. I don't have weight issue but am taking green food supplement in raspberry flavor everyday. You can check Health Quest for more information. Way to go, darkwing.

Don't worry, Charms, I am a distributor for Amigo Juice which comes to me monthly in powder form, to be mixed with water, three times a day. I take it religiously. It comprises Mangosteen, Acai and Goji Berry, all three of which combine to make a very healthy meal supplement. They are not only good for preventing cancer, but keep down blood sugar levelsand cholestoral. It is good for all sorts of ailments, containing several vitamins. On top of that, I take green tea three times a day, and I feel fit as a fiddle. Thank you for your concern, but I think I have it all covered and what I eat is very healthy too. Brightest Blessings my friend. x

If you would like to check out my website, in order to find the benefits and price to compare with your XO, I would be quite willing to send it in PM for you, Charms. There is no obligation to buy from the site, but there is some good information in there, and who knows, on regular order, at half-price, you might find it a better bet to buy from there. It's up to you... just shout, if you'd like it. :-)

Oh yes, I have heard so much of this mangosteen and gogi drinks. There's one brand that's available here but quite expensive. I think the brand name is XO something. I will still buy it since I have a very low red blood count.
