'When i am replying in mylot,i will switch on the television, but i find out that i can concentrate on typing only,i cannot hear what the television is about,i may also open a few internet exploer windows to browse different websites at the same time, but still i will focus on one site at particular moment until i finish one task.'
When do you multitask? Does it work for you? Can you handle all the tasks well?
Do you prefer to do it one by one??
When you are mylotting, are you doing something else??
When I am listening to the music,i find out that i cannot analyze things well,do you have same feeling??
Do share your thoughts:)

I tend to be a multitasker unless I am really tired. I burn dvd's or cd's in the midst of being on my lot and play games as well. But that is only if I'm not tired. If I am tired, forget it. I can only concentrate on the task at hand.

you are really such a multitasker. i believe that it takes so much talent to be able to do this. it is also a talent to be able to do many things at one time, do you know that? some people always amaze me at how they can do some things altogether. this is because, i am never good at it. i have a neighbor who is able to finish her housechores fast because she knows what to do in order to get lots of things done at the same time. i tried to learn from her, asked some tips on how to go about it. until now, i have never learned the tricks.

I believe my full time job as an Office Manager helps me to be able to multi-task the way that I do. I've been doing this type of work for nearly 12 years. That is a requirement for this position, the ability to multi-task.

Well, I can have the tv on, but when I'm responding to a discussion I don't really hear it. I do know I can't have a conversation with a tv or radio on, that's music or talk. I can't read with music on either or with the tv on. In fact, about the only thing I can do with radio & tv on is stitch or other crafts, even then I can mess up, but not too badly.

noise around us such as music or television shows take away our concentration to what we're doing. i am just like you elcbxn. especially when reading and responding to discussions. i can easily be destructed and i hate it.

ElicBxn,may be when you are doing crafts, you do not need to think or analyze by your brain, you only need to move with your hands, but when we are replying,we need to think and build up ideas ,it is impossible for us to hear and understand what the TV or radio is on.

i don't like multi tasking. it takes away my focus from the most important thing to do.
like when myLotting, i don't like to hear something more. i just want my ears and eyes concentrating on the discussions and responses.
if i need to do something else, i finish doing other things before logging in here so i can be sure that i won't need to multitask... anne

hi,maryannemax, evem when i have switched on my television,it will be like a background noise,at particular moment,i will either focus on typing and replying or i will focus on the television if it is the news or other programme that i am interested on.
I can focus on one thing only.

Being a former paralegal I multi-task to the extreme, I will have several televisions sets going on at one, usually 6 browsers windows open doing a number of different tasts, I love multi-tasking, I guess all the years of doing it for my business I just got used to it and can handle many tasks at once.

Spending the last 20 years as a paralegal we are taught that we need to multi-task many different responsibilities at the same time, I guess it carried over to my personal life, I can be involved in a television show or a movie and type at the same time, I read my typeing over, but I don't need to look at the keys on the keyboard to know what I am typing is correct.

Oh,yeah,i can imagine how fast you can type without looking at the keyboard..For me,i have to look at the keyboard every time or i will have a lot of typos.
I can imagine being a paralegal would be very hectic everyday, not only you could do multitask ,you should be able to handle pressure pretty well, aren;t you?

I cannot concentrate on one thing at a time. I give thanks for that to my Adult ADD. I am listening to the Cleveland/San Antonio basketball game as I write this. When I do something...I have to do at least two things or else it will not get done. Of course, I was one to either watch TV (or listen to the radio) and do my homework in high school. The only time that I got bad grades is when I had to do it in the quiet.

What is the score right now? you must be a supporter of the Cavaliers as you are from Ohio.:) LeBron James is such a great player,i still remembered the time when the Cavs was before he joined as a rookie few years ago,he had lead the Cavs into the finals in few years.

I would have to fall into the worlds worst multi-tasker category, but then again I am a man and men are typically assumed to be less good at multi-tasking than women, although we have science on our side to say that there are physiological/biological reasons for that to be the case. Give me one task at a time, I will complete it efficiently and effectively, give me more than one I might cope reasonably well, give me 3 or 4 things at once, and then I would have to prioritise.

Hi easy. Multi task is my middle name, LOL. I like to avoid procrastinating, hence, you can see me hopping around my house doing ten things at the same time. There's my work to deal with. Laundry to wash, cooking, playing referee to my girls, cleaning my house, feeding my bunny, and you can imagine what the rest of my task. Its not chicken work but it is my obligation.
While doing mylotting, I prefer to slow down a bit. I can multi task but I prefer to focus on each discussions properly. After a long hard day, I am grateful my brain is still in one piece.

Being a parent,i can imagine how busy you are everyday, you do not have time to do single duties one by one and you have to take care of your children anytime, that mean you need to be ready for them no matter what you are doing, may be they will suddenly scream or cry and need your help while you are cooking.

I am a multi tasker. When I am on the internet, I can respond to people, & give out best responses at the same time.
Or I can be downloading emails, & logging into another program at the same time.
I don't music or the TV going on in the background, although not too loud. I even ignore the kids fighting.
People talkiing to me though, really distracts me.

Well i do have a special way of multi tasking, because my computer is somtimes slow, and it seems more efficient.
But i can tell you that i do take every task very seriously, not differently then if i would have dealt with only one at a time.

I do multitask a lot. Whenever I'm logged in to myLot, I do have lots of other websites that I visit. I check my email, search for recipes and play games. I also watch tv when I'm at home and chat to someone online. Well, it depends on the situation where we need to concentrate on something in particular. Maybe if I'm studying or preparing for a report I would definitely shut down a part of me that concentrates on just studying. But as for me, I find it easier to study when there's music playing. It makes it very dull and quiet if I'm just facing the computer without any music.

Hello easy888, i usually listen to music on my computer while i am replying in MyLot , i dont find it difficult to do two works at the same time i mean listening to music and replying to mylot topics , i usually play my music in low or medium volume so that it wont disturb my concentration when i m replying to mylot topics
