I chew for several reasons. After meals, especially lunch, it produces saliva which helps fight decay. I also find it a confidence thing, don't ask me the reason behind that, I don't know. I generally chew for an hour or two, although once or twice I've chewed so much, the gum turned paste like. Eww, pretty disgusting!

I'm actually not a big fan of chewing gum or a toothpick..aheheh. Maybe to some,it is just their pastime especially when they're bored.

At home I use toothpick to clean 'stuck' foods in between my teeth..lol..But i do notice that some people can simply keep the toothpick in their mouth without anymore purpose. And I really can't chew chewing gum for hours but others can.. lol..

I do not use toothpicks much. I chew a gum until the flavor is out of it and then I get rid of it because there isn't anything left on it after that.

That's a very fair comment. In fact that supposed to be the way but some people simply love to keep the gum and chew it till almost bedtime..(lol)..
And some people love to bite toothpick until it's all broken..he he..
