When you don't feel like getting up and going to work, what is it that gets you motivated and gets you out the door?

I stay home with my son now, and just do some work online when he is asleep or when he is playing with his daddy. The main motivation to get out of bed in the morning is hearing a small voice on the other side of my bedroom wall saying "Mama? Elliott's hungey!" So then we get up and start our day. I love being home with him and playing with him all the time. It's awesome. I don't need any motivation to play with him or read to him or anything. It's just too fun to NOT do it. lol As for getting stuff done to make money. There are days that I really don't feel like it. And occasionally I will take a day off, but for the most part, I go ahead and do it. The motivation there is that half of what I make goes to savings. The rest gets put away for Christmas and birthday gifts, etc. That way our budget doesn't take a hit when it comes to holidays. So I just think about how happy my son will be when he opens his presents.

What type of work do you do online besides MyLot? It's nice that you are able to put your earnings to good use.

What works for me when I don't feel like getting out of bed and going to work is the visions. The visions of that darned loan officer at the bank. His bushy eyebrows and furrowed brow. His nasty facial expression as he looks over the top of his horn-rimmed glasses. I get a vision of him in court as he and the lawyers tell me that my house has been repossessed and that I have 30 days to pack up and move. Then there is the vision of my children, each emmaciated with large, protuding bellies like the starving children of the third world countries that one sees on television. But what really, really forces me up and out of bed is the vision of the man from the Dell, as he carries my laptop down my front walkway with me running behind him screaming, "NO! Anything but that. Please, I won't be able to go to myLot!" My bedsheet wrapped around me, flapping in the breeze.

I am a stay at home mom for me what motivates me to get up and move in the morning is my 3 year old moving. Once he is up my day starts and it doesn't end until after he is in bed my husband is feed and his work clothes clean and ready for him in the morning and his lunch is made. Many days my day goes until about 9 or 10 at night before I can relax. I have to say that these days I am slowing down a lot now that I am 32 weeks pregnant and can't see my feet, bend over, or run around like I used to. What motivates my husband to get up is the need to support and provide a good life for his family.

Honestly it's my husband. But for him I would have quit that job I so hate a long time ago. I just don't want to put financial burden all on him when he works so hard every night for us to have a home and decent cars and things. Other than that I guess it's knowing everyone's got to work to live...it sucks but that's where the world is right now.

Well, I work from home nowadays, which almost seems a bit hard to get yourself motivated lol. I just think of getting my own life, own place again, and take advantage that the at-home life has to offer. I can work in my pjs if I want to, no commute, no bosses or co-workers to deal with (sometimes lonely, but it's worth it), and pretty easy work all in all. I also think of the tons of things on my mental wishlist so, if anything else, that does the trick.

I have actually never felt like that I have always enjoyed going to work so I really don't know what would be the Motivation, I guess if you don't like your Job it is the fact that you need the money to keep the Bills paid

Wow those are long hours that you have the little girls. You must be exhausted at the end of the night.

My son motivates me to get up and take care of him everyday. I am a stay at home mom so even though I don't have to leave the house, I still have to take care of him and the household. If I don't then noone else would.

"SHOW ME THE MONEY !!!" LOL It's actually true though. I know I must go to wprk if I plan on paying my bills, going on vacation, etc. Money is my motivation. I actually like my current job, so it's not too much of a problem, but working midnight shift, sometimes I am tired and just want to lay down with my hubby and sleep. BUT, I start thinking about the money, and.... Hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go...

Well, there are 3 things that make me want to go to work/school. #1-Money!lol! #2-Taking care of my patients which I love b/c it makes me feel like what I'm doing is worth it and makes me feel good about myself. #3-The wonderful friends I have at work, it's like going into a second family. Great question daycarepal:)

I guess the need to get things done because they are not going to do it themselves usually gets me going. I tell myself that nothing will get done unless I get to it and that is always the case in my life.

I get and go anyway since I made the committment. I motivate myself. I know I feel better when I work too and as long as someone is paying I am to be grateful for the work. I tend to pick jobs though that appeal to me and pay me. That way I am not so reluctant to get and go. Even if I didn't work I probably would volunteer somewhere to keep my skills up and as long as you are out there, there is a chance at a new job. Hope this helps you to understand.

Motivation- for me it's definatly my daughter- I want to give her the best things in life and in order to do that I have to work- I am pretty sure that if I didn't have a child I would not be working where I am right now- I think once you have children- you have that responsisbility and that is what keeps you going day to day- But even if I didn't have kids I would still motivate myself- I like to have things and money so maybe it's money that motivates me too! : )

me, in our house, every morning, my family talks about anything when we are all together at breakfast. What makes me motivated is that, when i hear my mother says, " we have no rice for tommorow, or our budget will be for 3 days. When i hear those lines, i am much motivated to go to work. Because i was forced, and because i want to help for my family.

if u ask me tehn i'll say that the only thing which keeps me motivated is my target for which i'm working for!! until and unless i get it i can 't keep myself trying and this just pushes me to work harder and harder!!!

Fear! I am afraid that if I do not go to work ,maybe I will be out of work. And then I will not get money to supporting my living.
