A beggar asks you for money. What do you do?

Do you give him/her the money or just ignore them? Some people think that beggars deserve what they get (i.e. they got kicked out of home because of something), and some people think beggars should be given another chance.
I think that beggars should be given a little money. They might be sorry, so just give them a chance. But if they aren't, then they only have A LITTLE money; not a lot; what can they do with it... nothing?

i would really check if the person asking for the alms is really in need of it...
i.e. if he is not able to work (physically challenged) or old, then i would give him some money.
but if the beggar is healthy, i will definitely not give any money to him/her.

But mind you, not all beggars are beggar. There are some who are lazy to work and so that just sit on the street and extend their hands for alms. Sometimes they even forced people to give them. Not that I am against them. I give alms only to those who are physically handicapped. Those without limbs or arms. So before I give them some money or sometimes food, I size them up first. I witnessed a group of beggars in their attire that will make them really look like beggars sitting in a dark alley and gambling!

Wow. I thought that only happened to be in movies or shows! But giving them a little money for their next meal, but not for their whole fix would be good. Another chance. And also, there are some people who kidnap kids and break their arms and legs and tell them to beg. I heard about it in China. It happens there.

I think that if you give in good faith and with sincerity, not wondering whether the beggar is genuine or not, it good. But you are right, a little money maybe to buy him his next meal (not his next fix) would be good enough!
