No snow. I live in Texas. I'm just thrilled that it got cold last night. Actually it got into the 30s last night - kind of unusual for this time of year. Our summer was so hot and dry that I've been praying for a really cold winter. I haven't had to turn the a/c on in almost a week. I LOVE that!

It does snow sometimes. ACtually, we do get a little bit almost every year - but only 3 or 4 inches at the most. What we do get are ice storms. 3 years ago the entire areas of Dallas/Fort Worth was shut down for 4 days over an ice storm. We had semis stranded out on the highways and people were taking food to them. It was unbelievable. Fortunately I had plenty of stuff stockpiled and didn't have to go out. Unfortunately, I was working from home at the time and didn't get off work because of it. :-D

Snow are solid form of water that crystalizes in the atmosphere and falls to earth, covering about 23% of the earth's surface either permanantly or temporarily. Snowflakes are formed by crystals of ice that generally have a hexagonal pattern. Snow cover has a significant effect on climate and on plant, animal, and human life. By increasing the reflection of solar radiation and interfering with the conduction of heat from the ground, it induces a cold climate. the low heat conduction protects small plants from the effects of the lowest winter temperatures; on the other hand, late disappearance of snow in th spring delays the growth of plants.

We had a little snow in Michigan last week but it didn't stick. It was neat to see the snow on the trees with all the leaves still there.
