We have an indoor cat who somehow has picked up fleas. He has a skin, being allergic to almost everything in the world, so we have to be rally careful about what we put on him. All natural products are preferred. Any recommendations?

I've found finely chopping up fresh garlic, 1/4 a teaspoon, and mixing it in their food works great at keeping the fleas as well as tick off both my dog and cats.

Sounds like a good idea. How often do you put the garlic in their food? Everyday? Once a week? Do you put it in wet food, or just atop dry food. Thank you!

I do it once a day when I feed them. I have added it to both dry and wet. Just chop it fine and mix it in. My mother uses garlic poweder and saids it works just as well, but I like fresh garlic.

Thanks for the tip sunshine. Wish I had logged in and READ the answers (doh!). Eventually the fleas just went away on their own. It was very strange.

Our cats have the same problem. I have heard that tea rose oil is good. A drop or two between the shoulder blades should do. Next time I go to the store I will try it. My neighbor has dogs and none of them have fleas at all. Maybe it DOES work!

I heard tea rose oil actually irritates their skin. Be careful when trying this one, but let me know if it works.
