Here is an article I wrote on attracting birds to your yard.

It doesn't talk about hummingbirds, however. But, I would think it would be the same principle.

Here are two sites that have information since you should know all about the critters you wish to lure into your yard and tips to help them eat and fend for themselves. Good luck. We have seen one hummingbird while in this new house we are in. Now we need feeders!

Hummingbirds are attracted by sweet smelling flowers. You can also attract them with sugar water. You can buy a special feeder for hummingbirds that they can feed on the same way they do with flowers by inserting their long beaks inside the place where the sugar is stored.
Here is a site that has all kinds of hummingbird info including a nectar recipe. Some people think you need to color the nectar red but that is not true. The birds are attracted primarily to the sweet smell.
