Just before my husband moved into my house, we realised what an enourmous collection of books we both had.
I had novels, paticularly a large collection of historical, but I aslso had encyopedias & series of books on native animals.
But husband had just as many. Plus, with three children betwe us, all of whom had books, we had sheleves & shleves of them.
So we did a drastic cut back. I sold some books to a second hand book shop, & gave many away to the Slavoes. Hubby did the same.
Now wee have just two bookshelves in the lunge room, & all kids kep their own books in their own room.

I have a huge book collection most of which I have read at least once although there area few I haven't and plan to get to eventually. I love reading and if I like the book I like to keep it so that way I can re-read it. I've re-read the same books many, many times because they are familiar and it's like visiting with an old friend.

My book collection over the years has actually dwindled tenfold! When I was a teenager I had a big bookshelf full of books, then as I got older my book collection has got less and less and less, probably because I've moved so many times, and books can be bulky when you have to move home. Now I have about two dozen books in total, I'm not a reader to be honest, all the research I need is done online.

Yes, I have a book collection. So yes I have alot of books in my house. Most of them are very old books worth a consideate amount of money. Like first hard back additions of Shakesphere and other such great books. I habve read every book I own. My kids own alot of books as well. They are all children age books. Like "Sam I am" and "Green Eggs and ham".

I think sometimes I should start my own library. I've got stacks and stacks of books. Mostly paperbacks but I do have a large collection of hardbacks, those are mostly reference or educational books. I don't think I'll ever get around to reading them all but I'll make a darn good effort. :D

My collection is antique book mostly Shakespeare, and some other classics. I don't read them just mostly collect them. My husband has a lot of books mostly from college. I tried to get him to get rid of them but he won't. Most of them are text books that he will never look at again. They are so heavy and take up a lot of space but I guess we look smart with all the books around.

I love reading. I used to buy books every now and then but lately I stopped buying books. Instead I borrow at the library and if I find one worth keeping, that's the time I buy a new one. Reading is fun.

I have somewhat of a western book collection, mostly paperbacks. I do have several books on trading that I use in my work. But I am not a regular collector. That means I would have to have a library and bookshelves in my home. No room at the present time.

Over the years my family and I had amassed quite a collection of books. We recently downsized our collection quite a bit. We donated many to the local public library and some to a local senior citizen's center. I must say that I am enjoying the looks of the den without all the books stuffed into every nook and cranny!

I have a lot of books. Most of them I have read already. I just keep them on the bookshelves for whatever reason. Usually when I get the books, I read them right away. As a matter of fact, I don't stop reading until their all read! I can't say what my favorite is. I've loved them all!

I have a reasonable collection but not too many adult books.
I have mostly all the books from my childhood - Sesame street collections, Sweet valley High, Babysitters Club & even a decent collection of The Little Golden Books.
All will be very handy when my daughter is old enough to read - she'll never run out of books.
I'm not much of reader myself any more but i do have a couple of shelves of adult books, horror ones mostly, but i can always re-read one of those should i get the urge to read!

I can't even count how many I have... there are 3 small bookcases in the craft room that are full, a floor-to-ceiling bookcase for my paperbacks, and two walls in the family room, almost to the ceiling.
I have mostly books on all kinds of crafts, sewing, and gardening, with a few home improvement jumbo books thrown in. I have read all of them, except for some my Pop left me. It was quite a stack, and I get to about one a month.
