I made a couple of comments to my discussion about my son's seizure on Sunday, but since things have been very stressed for us since then, I haven't replied to each and every response. I wanted to make an update separately to make sure all those who knew about the situation could see it.
Dustin is playing and acting normally now, and seems to be just fine. The doctor said that most likely his vaccinations aren't directly to blame, and think it's most likely the viral ear infection that caused the seizure. We do have to watch out in case he has more seizures next time he is ill, but for right now she thinks that all is well.
I'm still a little nervous, more because my son stopped breathing than because of the convulsions, but he does seem to be perfectly fine right now. If anything he's just a little annoyed because I'm being clingy.
I wanted to thank everyone for prayers, thoughts, advice, and sharing their own stories with me! I really appreciate it! =)

Hello my friend. I am always bad for words so I really don't know what to say. But one thing is that I am glad he is fine now. I have no idea viral ear infections can cause seizure but I am going to stupidly ask if this infection has been cured.

Thanks lecanis, for sharing update about Dustin. I am really happy to know that he is doing perfectly fine now. I would like him doing the same way for the rest of his life without having any health problems. I'll be praying for that.
Lol, Children do get annoyed if not given freedom they look for. I have yet to experience this with my own son but I already have experienced this with my nephews specially the elder one. At least he will be knowing that there is always some one whose eyes are constantly on me so no wrong doing, lol:-) My son has started his desire for freedom especially when his mother tries stops him from typing on key board. He looks at her as if asking her that why on earth you would stop me mom? LOL.
I hope that with such a strong mother and loving parents Dustin will keep on doing fine. I would also keep asking you to take care of yourself because it's important for Dustin too. I wish you best of luck and Dustin a complete healthy life. He is so cute and lovely that it really would be difficult to see him in pain. I pray that no pain ever comes his way:-)

Thanks for all your kind words, kamran! =)
Hehe, yup those keyboards sure are popular among young kids! And of course they always want their freedom! Mine has mastered the words "Mommy, why?" and uses them when I take something away often!

That's great that your little one is better now! Isn't it funny how fast they get tired of you being clingy and holding them? lol My son fell down four steps when he was 14 months old, and I held him and cuddled him so much! He got tired of it fast! I think it's just natural for us to want to hold them and keep a close eye on them when we are more worried about them, though.

I, for one, don't need a reply. I'm glad you updated us on the situation. I know how worried you were and how anxious you must still be. You wouldn't be a caring parent if you weren't! Glad things seem to be back to normal with Dustin. Hang in there!

lecanis I am just so pleased that young Dustin is doing well, it is the way of things that although it is very traumatic for parents when this happens the children seem to bounce back and resent their parents fussing over them! lol Praying he will remain well and that it was a one off situation! xxx

Heya Lecanis,
Good to hear that your bub is just fine. It is alot more stressful for us than it is them. My little one was fine the next day too, but as you said we just have to be more careful with subsequent fevers. In fact my daughter has a really high fever at the moment and I am a nervous wreck, checking her every few mins. Poor thing had a totally disturbed sleep last night with me waking her to give her panadol every 4 hours and checking her temperature every 10 mins. Its looking that tonight will be the same as she is still very high.
Regards, Tanika.

Thanks so much for posting this and I'm glad things are well with you, what a fright you have had.
Don't feel about about feeling clingy, you're not being clingy, you're being concerned as a parent should be and justifiably so.

I am so happy to hear everything is well right now. I know how scary that must have been. Thankfully everything has turned out ok and no lasting effects fom his lack of breathing.
I am imagine how clingy you are, I know I would be myself. Hopefully you will never have a repeat.

Thanks so much for posting an update for us hun. I was wondering how your little guy was doing and I'm happy to hear he is doing well. I don't blame you one bit for being kind of clingy, I'm sure if it happened to my daughter I'd be the same way. Thanks again for the update *hugs* & take care!

Thank you lecanis for this up-date...I'm glad things seemed to have calmed down a bit...but I can sense you're still going to be on edge for quite awhile...like watching his every move and breath...to his annoyance no doubt..LOL---You and Dustin will still be in my prayers.

If your son had an ear infection when he got that vaccination, the two together could have caused the seizure. It's very important that doctors check children very carefully before they give children vaccinations because of the possibilities of seizures. I think doctors think that it's more important to stay on the vaccination schedule, but doing so really can put their health at risk, especially with these multi-purpose vaccinations. Thank God he's okay and you probably won't see any more seizures.

I am so glad your son is doing well. I know it is not easy not to be cliny or not to keep watch over him while he is sleeping. You do need to watch him if he gets another fever in case he has seizures. Good luck girl
