Which would you prefer to jog in the morning or afternoon?

I like to jog everyday. It has been a habit I have gotten used to and part of my daily routine in the morning. When my work sked starts in the afternoon because my work has time shifts, I jog in the morning and would usually start early at 530 and when my work sked starts in the morning, I jog in the afternoon at 430/530. But, personally, I prefer to jog in the morning. I love to see the beautiful sunrise. I live in the city and I usually run on the road or a nearby park and there is not much traffic in the early morning and it's very nice to breathe clean air.

I prefer jogging in the morning. I live in city too. So as you know in the morning , the roads are free from polution and rich in oxygen , so it makes me feel fresh for the whole day. Its generally at morning 5 am I go for jogging/walking because it is said that the air has the most pure oxygen at 4 am , but as I cannout afford being that early , I do it at 5.30 am. But I being a student cant manage time todue it on a regular basis due to the tight schedule .

Yeah even I have noticed people climibing stairs in their lunch. Some people for this reason have stopped using lift if it is for a floor or two. I feel all that is necessary. Becuase with this mordern technology our physical work is reduced to a large extent. So each and every bit add to our health. For instance , cars and bike have reduced most of our walking. We now walk only in our homes. People are finding in that too.
Good Luck !!!

Hi gpraveenkumar5 :) True, the air is fresh and pure in the early morning which is good for our health. I agree with you on that. :) Sometimes, some of us get stuck with work or commitments or studies that hinder us from jogging/running/doing exercise on a regular basis, don't worry you're not alone. Sometimes, I fail to run/jog/exercise when I am busy, I just get back when I do have time and take easy on a few days. Some people would agree about making time for jogging/running/exercise in a day like squeezing it in your lunch break or when you try to relax or on the things that you do everyday like climbing the stairs instead of heading to the elevator or a walk in the evening. Just have fun :) Thanks for posting. :)

How did you get started with your jogging regimen? For some reason I always have a hard time sticking to it. If I do it one day I usually feel uninspired to continue the next day. :(

I used to jog in the early morning. The only problem was in winter when the country lanes were rather icy and I had a couple of bad falls which slowed me down a bit.
But in summer when sunrise here is 04:30 it is wonderful with the scent of the hedgerows and birds singing and the air is cool. Great.

Ouch! I hope you didn't hurt yourself badly when you twice had a fall. Always take care. Did the falls ever stop you from running? well, I hope not. I wish you more enjoying and safe runs smacksman. Thanks for posting :)

Naaah! We breed 'em pretty tough in this neck of the woods! I just scraped up most of the skin and bits and grafted them back on when I got home! haha

Jogging in the morning is my preference. I have not done it in the afternoon. Maybe I jog when I am really in a hurry for my work. LOL. I stopped jogging now since me sister refused to accompany me. God bless!

LOL I used to do that several times just to catch the time before it spells L-A-T-E. LOL I would love to join you for a morning jog, if it's ok with you. ;) Thanks for posting my friend.

Wow, everyone here seems to prefer jogging in the morning. Well, I happen to prefer jogging in the afternoon. Since I'm not really a morning person, it's hard for me to wake up just to fit in my jogging schedule. I always jog in the afternoon at the nearby park. :) have a nice day LoovesAmethyst~!

I prefer jog early in the morning in fresh air rather than in the afternoon...In afternoon its not possible as there will be sun and in that scorching heat we will be more tired ...

I live in a tropical island and during afternoon, it really gets hot so I usually start late in the afternoon, or almost when I see the sunset. Yup, the heat tires me easily too. Thanks for posting.

I like to run in the mornings. Mornings I am refreshed and ready to workout..by afternoon or evening, I am too beat to run! I am so not a runner, used to be, but age has led me to other means of cardio. If I do jog, I do intervals..faster and more effective.
Do you run intervals or just steady state jogging?

Hi Angie5 :) Sometimes, I incorporate speedwork in my running program once in a week when I train myself for a running event I like to join but most of the time, it's just purely easy pace. Thanks for posting :)

I think the best time's in the morning. Afternoon would be much too warm in my country.
Morning's when it's really cool outside, the air is just so fresh and I am wide awake after a good night's sleep. Yes, it would be a joy to watch the sun rise as I jog along.

Being that I'm a morning person, I would much rather jog in the mornings. Being that I'm also a lazy person, I would also like to just pretend that I'm jogging. Also I like to say that I'll do it tomorrow. It seems to work out better that way.

I like to jog as well but early morning? nah...
1. Not a morning person and cant wake up that early. When I was in the army, we had wake up 5 in the morning for runs.
2. Now that I'm working, I need my sleeps in the morning. Start work around 7.30am.
3. So my habit is evening runs/jogs.
4. Clears the daily work stress and enjoys my music on my iPod on the run.
I just started a discussion related to this and maybe you could comment on.
