Do you count to ten when you hurt yourself?

or do you just shout a naughty word or too to take the pain away from your thoughts as your thumb is throbbing after you have hit it with an hammer. Or like the other day when I walked round the back of a car in a carpark and knocked my shin on a towbar that was level with my shin 'OUCH' and that did hurt.
I thought of counting to ten, but my mouth was not attached to my brain at the time so I just let it rip.
Have you done that?

No I do not count to 10 when I hurt myself. I just hold my best and try not to faint and wait there for the pain to pass or at least become manageable. When this happens, then I will go about my own business.

Yes I do that to and the words that leave my Mouth are not very lady like at all not that I am a lady but they are pretty heavy lol
It takes to long to count to 10 it is easier to just let rip there and then the pain goes faster lol as you are not thinking of the Pain

Hi deeeky,
I loose control as well and swear the most awful words when I get hurt accidentally. I think its a built-in genetic reflex reaction in my family. My grandfather was like that, he was extremely prude most of his life, but when he got a fright or got hurt; he would utter really obscene words. Very embarrassing when he takes you out to lunch at a fancy restaurant....you know what I mean.
And every time it happens, I tell myself to not use ‘that” word…but it never happens!

I guess that all depends on where I am, if I'm on my own or with company I know then I will just swear like a trucker, but if not then I'm usually polite..
