Have you ever been caught laughing in your sleep? Have you ever woken your self up laughing?
Well My Bf woke his self up the other night. He said he had no idea why he was laughing but he couldn't stop for about 5 minutes. He was still laughing about it 3 days later, yet had no idea what was so funny!
SO I ask you have you ever woken your self up laughing, please tell us your story!

One night I was awakened by my wife laughing in her sleep. I finally aroused her and asked her what she was laughing about. She said she dreamed I ran off with another woman and the woman told her I was handsome and intelligent and would take care of her. That was several years ago and to this day the mere mention of it will cause her to start giggling.

Welcome to mylot and i am proud to be your first post!
You are very right it is better than crying . But the more I think about it I have to wonder. They say crying releases a lot of stress from your body. Maybe crying in your sleep is a way to reduce stress when your body feels you have too much?

I have never, that I remember, caught myself laughing in my sleep. I have cried in my sleep. I have been scared in my sleep. I have been happy, but not to the point of laughing out loud. I enjoy the peaceful relaxed feeling after a positive dream. I hope your boyfriend is viewing this as a positive, I sure would. You may have to ask him to let you in on the joke next time. Maybe he can send it to you in a dream. Are you sure you did not tickle him or something? Is he even ticklish?

I woke up screaming in pain a few months ago when I had saminilla from the peanut butter. I had never had pain like that in my gut before. I was so scared.
I think I would be scared if I woke up crying, unless it was PMS time! LOL I think i would try to figure out why if it continues. Our dreams are views into our mind and it seems your mind is troubled.
I wish nothing but good karma on you, and hope you find peace in your dreams
Oh BTW, every time I see your user name for about a half a second I see POOPpooppoop and just get a giggle, then I say no it's pop!! So thank you for the giggles!

Well I'm not so sure about laughing, but I know that I talk in my sleep. Your b/f must have thought something was pretty funny.

Yes, i woke my girlfriend with a dream i had, i started laughing really hard because i dreamed that i was with 3 of my friends on a parking lot at a supermarket here in Bucharest, and one of them threw a snowball at me, but he hit a German Sheppard dog so it was really funny, so i started laughing in my sleep, and we both woke up.

lol At least you remembered why you were laughing!
I am going to have to ask my BF if he remembers this and see if he laughs now, a year later or if he has forgotten about it.
Thanks for bringing this back up, I don't get to hear him laugh too often, so I enjoyed remembering him giggle over that!

Laughing ,talking and crying are normal during the sleep. I see a sleep specialist. He told me that as long as I am not violent with my actions or verbally, then it is ok. Dreams are normal. It just means that you are sleeping deeply

I am tired a lot because although I fall asleep quickly, I do not get the deep sleep that we all need. When I do remember my dreams they are only pieces of things and not dreams really.
I woke up screaming one time. From pain. I guess that is not so normal as my doctor was quite concerned.

My daughter sighs in her sleep. A real peaceful sounding happy sigh. I asked the doctor if I should be concerned when she did it in his office. He said it was just because she is a happy contented child. I do hope she is. i try to make her life a decent one, and be sure she is happy. Although as she nears teen-hood. I know that few are ever happy then!

I can honestly say I've never done this. I have woke myself up snoring :( as much as I hate admitting it I do snore occasionally, but never laughing. That's funny :)

Not laughing but one time i was trying to get my son to wake me up and i started yelling Mikey wake me up. But all he heard was this terrible moaning sound he was afraid to wake me up. I ended up waking my own self up from that moaning lol.

This is very funny. It never happened to me but I already heard my mom laugh in her sleep many times. I also hear her scream too which makes me worry... She must have a lot of action in her dreams: she screams, laughs, talks, cries etc.
My own experience was crying: I wake up sometimes and find that my pillow is wet. But my husband never heard me talk when I was sleeping.

This is very funny and queer at the same time. I have never had that experience. But mostly such interruptions in sleep are due to dreams. Maybe your boy friend had a really funny dream, and he forgot once he woke up. It happens all the time, forgetting the dream i mean. Most of the times people cant recall even the the immersive of dreams. But to continue laughing 3 days thereafter is a bit strange. You cant just be having the same dream all the time!

Yes I also have experienced that, just a dream about a typical conversation where something funny is being the topic, I wake up laughing and still continue to laugh upon opening my eyes. Like others, I also experienced waking up crying, I dreamed of losing a family member that when I woke up I was so glad that it was only a dream, but could not help fighting back the tears that keep falling because the dream felt so real.

Errr...your boyfriend might be possessed by a laughing, jolly man, LOL. I have no idea. This is the first time that I heard about this situation.
I think it is better to see your boyfriend laughing instead of weeping, don't you think. In my experience, all my dreams are always a reflection of my past, my dreams and goals. But nothing like this. Gee...when will I wake up laughing too. I sure need to have more laughter in my life. :)

Yes, I have woke myself up laughing. I would be so tickled. I don't think I have ever woke myself up laughing and not remember what I was tickled about. I am about to get tickled thinking about your bf still laughing and don't remember why. That has cheered my day. Thanks for the fun. Have a good weekend.

So far I do not think I ever woke up laughing and continue laughing after I woke up. However, I did know that I laughed in my sleep and I woke up at the first moment I thought it was loud enough to wake up everyone. It was sort of being conscious as I was laughing hysterically in a dream. Luckily, it did not wake up anybody before anyone start thinking I have gone haywire.

Nope I haven't. That would be really strange! But it's better to wake up laughing than waking up feeling stressed, because I was stressed in my dream.
I can't imagine laughing so hard in my dreams that I actually laugh aloud. I have definitely been laughing during my dreams but never out loud.
