That dreaded time of the year has come round again...aaaaaaahhhhh
Car Insurance is up!
However I've nicely accrued 4years no claims
So finally I can get it PROTECTED
Last years insurance quoted me £420.84 fully comp NO PROTECTED CLAIMS
So I rang around to get some better quotes
One company quoted me £410.49 inc Breakdown (which is no use I have RAC already)
I phoned another broker and they have 20 insurers they check and they were the MOST EXPENSIVE! AT £504.09
Then I had an idea of doing it through the internet instead on the phone, I'd have to fill in all the details instead of an agent but it works out cheaper that way
So I go onto one of the CASHBACK sites and get a quote off the internet and WOW this was the best quote £355.95!
Plus I got £25 for going through a CASHBACK site, So I'm CHUFFED what a saving! It would have been much less but I decreased the excess payment and my four years is now protected well as of 7th July
Lets hope nothing happens between now and 7th July (You know what my luck is like at the moment!)
My new insurance company has saved me a tidy sum by going through the internet plus £25 in my pocket
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
So How do you get your car insurance?

Atually we usually get ours through the Internet too - same as Health Insurance and Travel Insurance. You can get some good bargains if you're prepared to spend some time and "shop around". Hope this good news is the start of some better times for you:-))

I'm off to Winchester on Sunday, my friends have treated me to one nights accommodation, train tickets and a big meal in a hotel, reason to be cheerful, 1, 2 3 ;0) I am very lucky to have such good friends both online and off who support me x

Hi, I always use confused.com to get the best prices, then if then I'm not happy I'll go and search a few other companies, if I can get it cheaper elsewhere then i drop my current company like a brick as I've got a high performance car and mine is quite astronomical, but the cheapest around. I've recently searched for insurance for my daughters car, she's only 17 and I brought her a little Peugoet 306, I spent two days trying to find an insurance company that I could get insurance with for less than a grand!! It's no wonder that people drive without insurance these days!

well whenever we buy a new car here in nigeria, one thing you have to get immediately is a car insurance. There are insurance brokers here that would do that for you for a fee which i don't know of now and then before 2-3 business day you are all set to go and collect it at their office.
The insurance is for a minimum of 2 years and can be renewed whenever it is due to expire

Well I will not mention the Company but it is an Advert on the TV here in the UK with a Bulldog and they have given me the cheapest quote
As it is not counted at no Claims when you drive a Company car for 8 years People where quoting me far to much and also I have a big engine
Well this quoted me very cheap with one year no claim so I am happy

Nope.
Not a driver but as a friend I'd like to respond saying that this whole area is something of a grey one for me.
Although I'm glad to hear you happy (chuffed) by your findings. so those sites actually help? I always heard bad things about them.. Kudos,
~Joey

Wow wolfie that is a saving sweets! I get my insurance online too and I have always found it cheaper, easier and less time consuming to do it that way! I have kept my insurance up cos I am trying to build up my no claims , I have only had my own insurance 2 1/2 years so even though my car is off road I keep the insurance up to date! xxxx
