There are moments like when you need to study, that you need to stay awake no matter how tired you are. I don't like coffee, but i know that it's the main remedy in those cases. Which tricks do you use to stay awake when you need to? I try to listen to the radio or things that will keep my attention alive. Thanks in advance for sharing.

It is difficult for me to stay awake only during studying. For other things like surfing or watching a movie I don't need anything to keep myself awake. Whenever I am preparing for a coming exam I've to be awake late nights and finish the portion. I just do one thing. I finish one chapter and get up and have a stroll in the house itself. Then again I am fresh enough to study the next chapter. I don't need any coffee or stimulants to keep awake. If I feel very tired I just wash my face with cold water. This things helps.

Yep, I also walk around the house sometimes....pity of the wooden floor that makes a bit of noise sometimes LOL. Water is the most effective method i think. thank you bk.

I even drink a lots of water while keeping awake at nights. It helps to cool down the body which gets heated if kept busy overnights. Water even freshenes up your senses and you can study or do whatever work with full concentration.

Well I must admit I am useless at keeping awake and staying up late. Back in the days when I was studying, I tended to get up really early and work when I was fresh and wide awake, and then still go to bed early. In my view, if you’re that tired, then nothing is really going to sink in anyway! I guess fresh air is the only thing that ever works for me if, for example, I’m driving and feel tired. Just open all the windows and let some cold air in

Well when i am driving it's the only occasion in which i try not to push it really...because it's dangerous. But if i really have to drive, i will keep the windows open and the radio on at a good volume.

I don't drink coffee too. In order to stay awake at night, I would drink tea as tea contains caffeine too. Evertime I have tea after 8 pm, I'll not be able to sleep till very late in the night... For me another way is to have late night supper.... I just cannot sleep after that...

Drinking a cup of coffee can make me stay up. Since you don't like coffee, I think a cup of tea can work, too. Make sure the tea is strong and it works better.

Thanks youless...they say that tea is even stronger than coffee, so that might work.

Coffee, lots of coffee.... Green tea... Lots of Coc Cola... A walk... Stay out on the balcony for a while with not enough clothes on so you get cold... Putting your head under the cold water tap.... Inviting your friends over... Pinch yourself.... Going to the local bar for a carajillo? Whatever you do, don't mix coffee and Coca Cola! It's horrible and it almost made me throw up when I tried it. Back in the glorious days of university my friends and I would have "study nights" when we decided we would not sleep and we all helped each other not to fall asleep and study. It worked really well and we had a lot of fun! We were usually like 10 of us and we actually studied a lot.

I am one of those who just sleeps when I feel like sleeping even as a student. Admittedly, I did have the bad habit of cramming since I love to sleep. Gosh!~ thinking about it now, I do wonder how I managed to keep my scholarship and pass. he he he! No one and nothing could really keep me awake when i feel sleepy even if I drink a barrel of coffee. I am an avid coffee drinker and from experience it just doesn't work of keeping me awake.

well you could drink coffee that maybe the most common thing the other one is slapping yourself awake or having a big fight with yourself lolz. and oh yes you could hold the refrigerator barefoot and hope you will get grounded that should open up your eyes a little :) listen to hard rock might work, or scare yourself awake that might also work.

Yes, maybe hardrock...the problem is i like metal and such, so that might not be hard enough LOL. Thanks for the ideas!

When I used to have to stay awake I would drin Red Bull (energy drink) or take pro plus (caffeine tablets) with coca cola! haven't done that in a while and it isn't very healthy but it kept me awake! Going into the fresh air helped too. Now even if I am not trying to stay awake I just come on to mylot and I am up most of the night! lol Its 4 am now! xxx

Yeah, the computer is also a good way if you're amused enough. But if you are not, then you fall asleep even faster...so you better find something interesting LOL. thanks for replying.

Well Light, what I usually do when I tried to stay up late and awake 'till dawn is simply just going inside the bathroom and tried to washed my face with water to keep me awake although it might not be good for my eyes, but that helps too whenever you really wanted to stay up late and fully awake LOL :-)
