I live in a place where i can leave the car open too, but i normally close it. Don't know, i just feel i gotta do it. But anyway many times i've forgotten to close it and never had any problem.

I guess it depends on the car. We don't really like our car, so if it got stolen it would be ok LOL.
And we don't keep valuables in it.

hahhaa...i can imagine you praying for it to get stolen...too funny. Obviously if i had a 80,000 dollar Benz or similar i would never leave it open.

Exactly. My husband wants to buy a new (used) car this month. We'll probably be locking that one, we'll see.

I live in a safe place too. I can leave my car open all night long without any problem. But I am a secure person and think it is better safe than sorry. So I will lock my car unless for any particular reasons. For twice, we even forgot to lock our flat's main door while slept and left it open all night long.

I don't lock my car and I dont lock my house...I don't need to do it...my place is very safe...
