I don't believe in renting movies. What's the point? I've never understood borrowing things either. Why have something you have to give back? I buy movies all the time. It's a really bad habit actually. I can't help it!
I belong to both Columbia house and Disney dvd club. My friend tried to turn me on to peerflix, but that crap is stupid. I got sent a movie without a case. who wants that? not me. But I also buy movies from stores, of course, and especially the previously viewed movies at blockbuster are the best!
As a matter of fact I currently have, I believe 350 DVD's.... I think maybe more. I can't remember!

I have a subscription to netflix which lets me rent all the movies I can watch for around $30 a month. I have the 5 movies at a time plan. It works rather well for me even when I am watching a movie a day. Plus there are no late fees! I have been renting with them for something like 5 years with little problem.

That's pretty cool. I've never done any of the subscription movie rentals. But, it's probably been 10 years since I rented a movie.

I mainly rent movies when they come out to dvd. There are just a few that I are worthy of actually buying and I usually do that the first week they are out because it is cheaper most of the time. I would wait for them to go down to the ten dollar price but the don't really get to that price until months later and I don't want to wait that long.

I wait mostly so that I can get more movies for the same money. I'm cheap.

I only buy the ones that are worth collecting like LOTR, movies that I absolutely want to own and watch more than once. The rest I just rent or I buy them from Amazon for $3 or so.
There are "vending" machines now like Redbox who let you rent really new movies for only $1 per night which is a really good bargain

I buy any movie that I like and is cheap. LOL But, then, I like owning lots of movies. It comes from having to rely on my movie collection for entertainment when we didn't have TV service of any kind, I think.

Well here in the Philippines DVD's are much cheaper since they are pirated, its worth the same price as going to the movies, atleast with this we can watch it again and again and enjoy it with our loved ones without paying more. We here are more conscious of what we spend so we would rather buy pirateds rather than watching it in the movie house or buying the orginal since when it gets busted you have already grown tired of the movie in the first place :)

Wow! I couldn't even afford them at ten dollars. I wouldn't buy a movie I hadn't seen before. I like to know if it's good before I shell out my hard earned dollars.
I've bought quite a few movies on eBay, my favorite place to shop. I get used ones mostly or some of them are still sealed. I've gotten some for as inexpensive as a couple of bucks and the more you buy the cheaper shipping is.

I shop in eBay and Half.com a lot, too. I don't pay $10 for all of them. I have a lot of the ones that are on the $5.50 rack at Wal Mart. I also get a lot of them when there is a special sale and they are $3.88.
