Could you last a week without your computer?

I never knew how much I depended on my computer until it crashed and burned for two weeks. What did everyone do before there were computers, society still functioned but when I was without my computer it felt like my whole world had come to a end. I could pay my bills and send it by mail but takes to long. I could go to the mall but would have to fight the crowds and look for parking spot. The internet has made our lives so much easier and simplier that I just cant imagine life without my dsl. I was able to get a good deal on a modem and we are saving for a laptop so my discussion is how much do you depend on your computer and could you go two weeks without it.

I probably won't. That was the reason I saved to invest on a laptop.I had a desktop at home and sometimes you just have to be near a computer even if you're away from home. I guess this shows our over dependence on computers and the internet but hey It's a good thing...Just have to care for your stuff better next time with all this spywares and viruses...

I gotta have my computer. I do everything on this thing. I run my business on it. I play games on it, and of course I discuss things here on myLot. Every so often my wife wants me to take a break from it, so I do. I go through withdrawls from not using it. I get irritable. Before too lokng she tells me to get back on my computer. I can live without it, but not for long. there are so many things a person can do on a computer. and I will try to do all of them one of these days. I spend about 20 hours per day on my computer.

Oh my Goodness I know how you feel I don't think I could handle not having my laptop. For me it keeps me busy when there isn't anything else to do. I too pay my bills online and I would hate to have to do it any other way. If this thing crashed it would be awful.

Yes, I could, but that's very tough to me. I had a 6 days travel on last month. That's the longest time without my computer in this period. My job is a software tester in a telecommunication equipment company. Each day I spend over more than 12 hrs to stay with my computer. It has become a important part of my life.

i will be very honest with you... i can't... :-) we have depend so much on the computer nowadays that we hardly can survive a day without it... i'm not really a computer freak and i don't really spend a lot of time on the internet everyday... but still, i use it everyday and i can say that i will feel very uncomfortable if i have to go one day without it...

i think i'll survive a week without computer. though ill miss a lot of things but so far i haven't let that machine rule my life. it's still much fun to go to the mall and do some real shopping or go to offices and pay bills. i think of it as a great exercise - moving around.

I would just assume die rather then losing my computer. I can't even go a day without my computer. It's sad though that society now a days depend on these machines but you never know when they could just blow up in your face.

I know what you mean, I have a desktop so when I go out on vacations I think about all that I missing but soon the beauty of mother nature makes me forget about the computers and all my other electronic gadgets and I come home refreshed. I think it is good to have a brief vacation from the electronic media to rejuvenate and connect with your natural self.

I don't think so. It has been a habit of mine to check mails and check my accounts online when I wake up and before i sleep at night. I always have my laptop with me anywhere as much as possible!

I could not live without my pc, no doubt about it. Seriously, i have used a pc at least once per day for as long as i can remember. I spend about six hours per day on my pc and have done for the last year since i got the internet back, and on weekends like today i will be spending about fifteen hours on the computer. Im addicted to my pc, i could not live without it and if someone were to take it from me i would probably turn to a life of crime to fill my boredom, no lie.

it would depend on what I would spend my time. If it was in regular weeks I think it would be hard, but if I was in holidays and could enjoy travel, beach, sea, etc.. it wouldn't be very difficult.

I think I can last a week without a computer. But I cant last long without a Computer. Im really not sure about this, because there are times, when I have been to my native village, where I didnt have access to any computer for more than 2 weeks. I also think if one can stay for more than a month without a computer, he can continue to do that for the rest of his life too. What do you say ?

I think if you could survive a month without a computer then you survive the rest of your life without it. When your put in a situation where you have no choice then you learn how to adapt and cope and then its alot easier to continue it the rest of your life.

Oh lord i know how you feel, I have just been without my puter for a week! and thought my life was over! LOL and to think I did not want a puter when they first came out! it was like the microwave and the cell phone NO WAY! was I going to have one. and now I have all three and wonder how I ever lived without them. so here is a good question, If you had to give up your cell phone, microwave, or computer which would it be? I think I would have to let me cell phone go:) I do depend on my computer alot. it is my life line sad to say:)

Hi, My NoteBook was stolen. I was without my Note Book for more than a month. But then I use my home desk top to communicate with my customers. Without a backup it could be difficult.
