I was wondering does anyone use Associated Content as a tool for making extra money. If you do, exactly what type of articles do you try to publish onto the site? How's your money-making experience? Do you just publish a few articles and make a little, or use it as a second job? Thanks for your response.

I've only had a few articles published and haven't earned much, but I've got to hand it to them for paying promptly. Once I was paid even before they published the article. They sometimes take longer than the stated 5 days to respond, and sometimes a couple days pass between accepting the offer and seeing your article in print. As far as types of articles, I check their list of suggested topics, but don't know enough about most of them to write an article. I write things I hope people will want to read, which has met limited success so far. Good luck in your writing!

Thanks for responding. Now when you submit an article to Associated Content, do they retain rights or you? Are you allowed to legally submit the article to Helium, Constant Content, or to print media (such as a short story anthology, for example)? I'd love to use Associated Content if I felt that the site would let me use my work elsewhere. I am a budding writer and would love to create a body of work to publish (have some works in mind) but would love to retain copyrights and to be allowed multiple uses.

If you submit it as non-exclusive, it's still yours and you can submit it anywhere else you like. I heard that the offers are a wee bit higher for exclusive articles, but I haven't written any I wanted to turn over to AC yet.

I've been a writer with Associated Content for almost 2 months now and I've earned about $200.00. It's pretty good money for me as far as extra monthly income and it really comes in handy. I just always transfer the money from my pay pal account to my bank account and it really makes me feel good to know that I'm earning money from what I love to do most which is write. My articles are mainly leaned toward relationships which we all know that everyone loves to read about things of that nature. I wrote one article about falling in love with a married man and that gained me my most comments ever and they were all positive. I'm averaging around $5.00 per articles and I try to write at least 4 or 5 articles a day. You can view my articles at: http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/70069/silent_thinker.html
I also have a few short stories posted at writing.com so feel free to view those at: http://writing.com/author/msbiggs24
Thanks in advance!

$5.00 per article? That seems to be the standard at the site. Well, I imagine if you write 4-5 a day, you could make maybe $30-40 a week, plus with multiple page views a little more than that. Hope things continue to work out for you. If I join the site, I'll be sure to ask you about your username over there here on MyLot. Thanks for your response and talk to you later.

I haven't published much yet, but am working on a couple of others that I hope to publish soon. The ones that I have written so far are here http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/47194/kelly60.html if you are interested in reading them. I don't stick to any particular theme, I just write about whatever comes to mind.
So far my payments have ranged from $4 to $8 for my articles. I don't think that I would consider it as a second job unless you really worked at it, but I suppose that someone who could just turn out one article after the other might be able to make enough income to consider it that way. Personally, I tend to put too much time into an article to consider it that way. Even a few extra dollars doesn't hurt though.

I started writing for them in February (took a break from April to June) and have earned almost $500.00 - the range has been between $3.02 and $8.41. I was doing well at first with zero articles being rejected, but I've noticed quite a difference in the material they're willing to pay for now. For example, I submitted ten articles earlier this month (http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/54602/artexplorations.html) and they were only willing to pay for five because they claimed too many similar articles were already on the site. So, now I have to rethink what I've created for my idea file for this site and take on a new approach if I want to continue.
