this is like a trend when you are very young or just very tiny kida, haha!!then there are parties.. but when you turned into adolescent less birthday celebrations, what if you are in 20 years old, or 30 - like me..?? do you still celebrate it? or just an ordinary day? or just a day which makes you remember that you should add 1 in your present age? or you still have parties? or you just have a simple gatherings or a food trip - restaus?

I love celebrating my Birthday. I am 25 years old, but I still wait for my birthday to come. I celebrate it with my friends as well as family. In the daytime, I go for lunch with my friends, cut the cake, and enjoy the day. In the evening, my family is ready. we either go for a movie or for dinner or celebrate at home, but we do celebrate. I love my cell ringing whole day of wishes from my known. I am fond of celebrating my birthday and hope to celebrate it every year.

Nope. We don't do anything for our birthdays. I'll be 35 this year and my husband just turned 33. We try to give each other a card and a gift but no party or anything. We don't live near family, which is probably part of it. We might do more if we had family around, but I doubt it. Birthdays just don't hold the magic for me that they did when I was 16. lol Our oldest son is Autistic and doesn't understand parties. He actually has a fit if you try to get him to open gifts (he doesn't like tearing the pretty paper) so we don't do anything for his birthday, either. He won't eat cake or ice cream and he doesn't really have "friends". He doesn't understand how to play with other kids and usually prefers they stay out of his space. We did have a small party for our youngest son (we just have the two children) when he turned one in April. He had a blast in the cake, and he liked watching the older kids play, but it wasn't a big deal. We had a couple of friends come over with their kids of various ages. I am hoping to be able to have better parties for him when he gets older.

i am sorry for you,, no!!, DON'T BE SORRY, those children are special and gift of God, in time i believe he may somewhat understand it, just believe and believe, ok, don't lose hope...in time he will appreciate that party^^, just believe..oh..i am getting so redundant..and your next child, i think giving him parties or just simple celebration he will be very very happy ...for me, as with my age, we just have some simple dinner, or going out to restaurant..thanks..good!!!^^

Yes, I still celebrate my birthday.. But not extravagantly since having a party is expensive.. But if ever I have a lot of money I would always celebrate my birthday with lots of guests.. Even when I'll be 20 I'll still celebrate my birthday.

before when i was still younger just before i retired from my work, fellow instructors and students were serenading me at dawn at my house on my birthdays. they woulnd't miss a year greeting me on my birthday. this i really missed a lot because i do not anymore celebrate my birthday nowadays, no more parties and gifts whatsoever. it's just like an ordinary day for me. what is important is to thank the Lord for giving me another year to live and enjoy with my family and friends.

Although I stopped celebrating my birthday 4 years back. I still have a simple gathering for our entire family. Because we hardly get to have moments like that. I guess a birthday can be an excuse for that. I love being with my entire family more than anything else.

yeah, me too, there is always a way, if there's a will there's a way, even if it is not your birthday, but with the busy schedule, i think birthday has become the only day, right!?!, thanks, good, have a nice gathering!!^^

Hi, In my childhood, I didnt celebrated my birthday. Just buying chocolates from the shop and distribute it to friends in the school and to teachers. Sometimes my mother used to bake a cake in the home. But now, when I got married, my husband wants to celebrate. Last year on my birthday, I came to here to attend an interview, and he went to another city for his interview. But this year, he is telling me that he wouldn't leave me alone on my birthday. Because he feels that, that was the lucky day hch brought both of us to join in the job. And that was the day we started our job career. Thats why he feels that it is a lucky day for us.

oh, that's good, and now since you have jobs already because of that very lucky day, then you should celebrate it, do you have any siblings?, maybe for me just a simple but romantic celebration will do..me, i always put my kids first before anything else, but we cannot change the fact that it is only once a year and my kids are the one pushing me to celebrate it since i will treat them in a restaurant, oh!!i love them, good future on both of you, thanks!!^^, good!!^^

I no longer celebrate my birthday since I was 8 years old. It's kinda sad but I got used to it already. The reason I no longer celebrate my birthday is because it is between Christmas and the New Year. It is difficult to invite friends over, since my close friends are from out of town or they go home during this holiday period. But I never forget to go to church to thank God for another year that he had blessed me.

yes, it is still the primary way to celebrate your birthday,, or the most important, to celebrate it with God, i think you are wrong with that,!!you still celebrate it but not with lots of foods and stuff, but with the presence of our HOLY LORD!!^^, that's the best...and also to be more practical celebrate it with Christmas day so you will have your family with, it will be a double celebration as well as it is a pleasure to you to celebrate it on the same day as God celebrate his birthday, thanks..good!!^^

I celebrate my birthday every year, this year I'll be 40 but no one is allowed to say that, as I've said I'm going to be £39.99 and my age will stay that way for a long time! I have a get together with friends every year on the nearest Friday to my birthday and we meet up in a pub and then go onto a nightclub afterwards. On my actual birthday I tend to go to my parents and mum cooks a special dinner for me, yes, even at my age! It's a family tradition! I usually send out emails to my friends weeks before my birthday to say "come join me to commiserate getting yet another year older on xxxx at xxxx!" which people never fail to find amusing! x

As a kid i used to distribute chocolates to neighbours and school mates and the cake cutting celebration with near and dears. As a teenager in the college hostel, i had a great time during birthdays as my friends used to wake me up in the middle of the night, surprise me with gifts, and break eggs on my head, that's what happens to every other birthday girl. After getting married, its kind of a subtle celebration involving only my husband and kid, ofcourse with gifts and the cake and phone calls from family and friends.

no, i think it is not so subtle, it's more happy if you are with your kids and loved ones, me , not so often...but it made me quite laugh when someone break an egg on your head, haha, they really put an effort to wake you up and greet you, they are very nice friends, thanks..good!!^^

no, you will surely enjoy it, your family really love to make this day a very special day of you, for sure, many girls are really wishing and dreaming to have a very grand debut party cause it is their day, the day when they will feel free, but if you are not happy with that tell them cause i know as a mum that they will do anything for your happiness, but i think they will feel disappointed cause they did expect that you'll be very happy with their idea, but it's the best to tell them the truth!!^^thanks, good!!^^
