how long would it take to learn some language?

to really master it id say about 10 years. but to just learn and be able to have a fluent conversation, a dedicate study of 2 consecutive years every day should do it. just keep practicing. and in a year you could learn enough to visit the country and and speak your mind and understand. good luck!! btw, what laguage are you wanting to learn anyways..? you could visit conjuguemos.com for help..its what we use at school.

if you just learn a foreign language one year and you could speak it very fluent, you can be clever man, there are a few people who can learn a foreign language in just one year and speak it fluently, so just be patient in foreign language study and go through some painstaking process to learn it. just don't dream about just speak one different language in one year, it's much harder than what you think!

I think it takes a lot longer than a year to really learn a language well, although one can possibly get by after a year of study. There is an awful lot to learn when one learns a language.
