Got prunes? How about Spinach? Broccoli?

I'm curious about how many people have actually TRIED the stereotypical "yucky" foods. I know that when I was a kid certain foods were "yucky" even though I never actually tried them. Broccoli, liver, prunes, spinach, cauliflower, anchovies and avocadoes were foods that all kids "hated" even though many of us had never actually TRIED them. Have you ever tried these foods? Do you like them?
I actually like cauliflower, broccoli and brussel spouts, but I have to put melted cheese on them. I have tried liver and it was NASTY! I got close enough to smell anchovies once and about gagged. I've never actually tried prunes, but the smell of prune juice wasn't something that made me want to run right out and try them.
Anyway, how about you?

I like all of the foods you've mentioned except liver and anchovies. I've been eating them since I was a kid. The only foods that I've always thought were yucky are saurkraut and brussels sprouts.
Saurkraut I'll never get over, I can't even stomach the smell of it. But I can eat brussels sprouts, as long as they're cooked a certain way and not mushy.

I have tried many of these foods and some of them are actually pretty good. Broccoli and cauliflower are some of my favorite vegetables. They are best with cheese sauce on them, but they are also great with butter, in casseroles, or raw with ranch dip. I like my brussel sprouts with butter, although they are not as good as broccoli or cauliflower. Liver is also good when cooked with lots of onions. I don't want it just by itself though. It has to be smothered in onions to give it the best flavor.
I have tried spinach and avocados and I really couldn't stand the taste of either of them. I haven't tried any of the other foods you mentioned.

I like them raw with ranch dip, as well. Liver and onions was something I never could stomach. My mom used to make it. Luckily my dad didn't like it, either, so she seldom made it, and when she did she made something else to choose from since none of us liked it.

I LOVE broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, avocadoes, brussel sprouts. Not a big fan of anchovies, prunes and liver though!

I love brocolli and cauliflower. I'll eat them raw or cooked. I will eat brussel sprouts, but I don't actively search for them and fix them, I will just eat them when I am faced with them! I hate liver!!! I can't even stand to smell it cooking. Yes, I have tried it twice and almost thrown up twice! Prunes are okay. Strangely, I like raw spinach, but cannot stand to even smell it once it is cooked! Odd huh?

I've tried all the foods you mentioned and I generally don't have a problem with them. There are actually liver dishes/recipes that taste good-- stewed, fried, or with vegetables. I eat dried anchovies dipped in spicy vinegar and all dried fish for that matter (it's very common here in the country). Prunes are pretty much like raisins. I like the Champion brand because they are soft and sweet. Others are dry and hard. Avocadoes are nice with condensed milk and ice. You should try it, it's really yummy. Broccoli and cauliflower here are expensive so we don't get to eat them often. But they all taste good to me. Do I have a big appetite, or what?! :P

It's a kind of dessert. You just scoop out the avocado meat from its shell and then mix it with condensed milk. You can make it cold in the fridge, or you can put ice cubes on it to make it cold right away. Then it's ready to eat! We also do avocado smoothie or shake. It's quite popular here. :)

Hi Both my kids love broccolli as long as the cheese is on it. I hide the other mentioned food in all sorts of meals and my kids never notice. Anchovies are sadly not on my familys food list. We also love ceaser salad.

I eat all of the above except the liver and anchovies. I can honestly say that I can't stomach that. I also have issues with cooked cabbage, but I will eat raw cabbage.

I love boiled cabbage but since my husband and son won't eat it I don't bother. I make it with corned beef and it's excellent! LIke I said, I never bother anymore since I am the only one that eats it. I hate making seperate meals for everyone, so I gave up some of my favorites since no one except me would eat them.

I love spinach on pizzas and as far as cauliflower and broccoli, I love them as long as they are fresh and not cooked (I'll even eat them cooked sometimes). I like a lot of those those foods. I haven't tried liver, but I'm not a big meat eater anyway so I probably never will!

As a child I liked broccoli, cauliflower, and avocados. I grew up eating them. I was forced to eat liver and hated it. I still hate it. Prunes are ok, but they are too much like raisins for my tastes. I hate cooked spinach but love it raw in a salad. Anchovies are evil and should be outlawed, yet they use anchovie paste in cesear salad dressing and it's good, so I guess they have some use. My mother hated brussel sprouts so I was like 12 before I ever tried them. I like them. Taste like cabbage to me.
I still hate beets, turnips, mustard greens, eggplants, hominy, black eyed peas, raw onions, cilantro, and a few other things. :)

I'm not a fan of raisins, so I think that is part of the reason I never tried prunes. I like plums, though. I also can't stand beets, turnips, hominy, peas (any kind) or eggplant. I can eat onions on pizza and sometimes on a hamburger, but I'm not a big fan of them.

I love everything that's green! So broccoli is a favorite, especially broccoli pie or pasta with broccoli and cheese. Spinach is yummy! Have you ever tried spinach soup with boiled eggs? Or spinach pie? Or fried spinach with almonds? Brussel sprouts and cauliflower are great too! Cous cous with prunes and meat is a delicious dish, one of the few meat dishes i really like. Prune juice doesn't sound too nice though.
Liver? Oooh, that's just nasty! I could not eat that, not even if they offered me a million dollar. Just the thought of it makes me want to throw up......
Anchovies don't smell too good but I like the taste. Specially when they are used to make a salty sauce. Isn't that what they do in Thailand?

I like broccoli and brussel sprouts, even if it is just cooked in butter and garlic. I also like liver, I even have liver spread in my kitchen right now. My mom eat prunes, it is a part of her diet.I also eat prunes. I recently ate a spinach salad, and i have a spinach dip for my tostillas. I eat anchovies. I have them(anchovies) fried. Avocadoes? Yup! I just had an avocado shake last week. Wow! I eat almost every "yucky/nasty/hated" food you posted. =)
ever tried okra... I don't eat that

Nope. That is another food that I haven't tried. Okra, I mean. My husband doesn't like 90% of the vegetables out there, so we pretty much stick to corn and green beans. Those are about the only ones he will eat. Even on salad about all he will eat is lettuce with shredded carrots. He picks the cucumber and tomatoes off and gives them to me. lol

Well, I love spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, and prunes. I used to eat liver (as a kid)but can't stand it now. I have never tried anchovies and never will. I don't think that I have ever had avacados so I don't know if I would like them or not.
I do eat brussel sprouts occasionally but I have to put a little sugar on them to be able to eat them or they are bitter to me.

I've always liked vegetables, even as a kid. The only vegetable I really don't like is brussel sprouts. I've always liked cooked spinach, and have recently started eating fresh spinach. I use that instead of lettuce in my salads. Broccoli, I can only eat cooked, and like you, I prefer it with cheese, but I can tolerate it without cheese. Never tried prunes, and I don't know if I want to. Same thing with liver.

I'm the kind of person that will try anything at least once. Not when I was a kid of course. But, I've found it never hurts to try. I like most of those. Spinach is still gross, dried sweet prunes are better than regular, I can eat anchovies as long as I don't have to see them. I like broccoli, liver can be good, I'm the only person i know who likes brussel sprouts.
